Great for Starting Seeds
In the past I would bring my herb garden and any vegetable plants that can keep growing inside just before the first frost, and continue growing them through the late fall and winter inside with grow lights and heating pads. I made the mistake last year of setting them up in my basement, but it got too cold down there and it killed everything. I decided to try again this year, and also play with growing tomatoes and cucumbers inside to see how well they fare and possibly get a great head start for the spring. I'd heard of these peat pots, but always used normal clay pots and sprouting trays in the past. Decided to give them a shot, and I am not going back. I can get a stable sprout and then just plant the whole thing in a larger pot or the ground, and it makes it so much easier to have 20-30 of these on a cookie sheet and I can just dump water directly into the sheet to water them. I am by no means great with gardening, but I would say these pots are absolutely worth the money and I like that I don't have to use plastic anymore. I would say that the 2' pots are probably a bit too small for most vegetables, but they are perfect for herbs and small flower starters.

Good tiny pot for delicate seedlings
I typically use 3-4" peat pots for transplants, but find that in doing so, some times the seedlings are like little kids wearing pants that are way too big. These 2" pots are just the right size for early sprouts that are too big for the pellets but too small for a 3-4" peat pot. Plus, I can get a whole bunch of them on a tray under the plant light. With the large pots, I run out of space. Definitely will get more for next year's garden.

great starter pot
I got these for my succulent - mother of thousands. It drops tons of little baby plants. I use these for the ones that take root so I can give them away. I like that you can leave them in the cup and it will dissolve in the new pot. I use a spray bottle to water in these or they will start to fall apart. These have been wonderful to share plants with people. Would also be good if you were using them for seeds.

Perfect for classroom planting!
This product was used in a school classroom to enhance our study of plants. The size was perfect for little hands to fill with soil and plant seeds.

Standard peat pots
These are standard peat pots. I've had similar issues with mold as some of the other reviewers, but that can easily be remedied by ensuring the pots aren't too wet and ensure the pots have enough room between them to dry out. My main issues with this pot is that they were stuck together and very hard to separate before use. Also I found another brand of peat pots that are much cheaper so these do not provide value over other brands.

Great for seedlings!
I use these as starters and put peat pellets in them. Once my seedlings are a big pigger I seperate them and put them directly into these pots with soil. They get nice and root bound then I can plant them. The pots take a while to breakdown so if you are already pretty rooted, I wouldn't recommend.

Keep it simple. Relax and enjoy.
I won't buy these again, nor will I spend a small fortune on special soil. I'm going to do it the old fashioned way. Fill up a regular plant pot with regular old potting soil and place seeds a couple of inches apart. This worked for me before I got the greenhouse so I can't see why it won't work now.

Perfect size
Perfect fit for regular size mason jars ;) they can rip so don’t be too forceful getting them out of the package.
