Got this to go with my 300/1000 plate because I wanted something to faster courser polishing before stepping up to finer grits. Works well. The 600 feels very aggressive during the break in period.

The Best! Don't waste your money on the much cheaper diamond stones.this will last you a lifetime.

I love Trends diamond sharpening plates. Bought this one to complete my sharpening setup. Use it on chisels, plane irons, knives, scrappers, and anything else I can think of. Fast sharpening plate, of good durable quality, and cuts evenly.

Purchased the 180/600 combination stone recently to use specifically for establishing a bevel and/or flattening chisel and plane iron backs. So far it has exceeded my expectations. Cuts very fast and feels similarto my Shapton stones in use.Replacing a DMT coarse/fine combo plate that cut so slow I felt like I was wasting my time on it. The DMT costs about half as much but only works half as well, so the adage of “you get what you pay for” holds true here.Would have been a 5 Star review except that the plate began to oxidize almost immediately while using water to lubricate it. I refuse to spend money on Trend’s “lapping fluid” so i will have to find a better solution.

They don't live up to their specs. Trend-USA doesn't write back. Trend-UK folks have been nice though.Two units are concave and out of spec on the 1000 grit side.The 300 grit side his been; 1 unit to spec, 1 unit better than spec. (I can't reliably measure less than .0005)1 unit has the 1000 grit side concave greater than .0011 unit has the 1000 grit side concave greater than .003!!!!Be forewarned, check immediately upon arrival and not after use as I did. It took me forever to correct the damage the 1000 grit side did.1 unit had the 300 side deteriorate very quickly. Something I did? Don't know. same unit as the bad 1000 grit side so...?They still seem to be the people to go to IF their stuff measures up.I still use them (4 stones) as other brands don't have their specs or are too expensive. But I may bite the bullet soon.

Nice plates that do the job they are intended for nicely. A cut above DMT for sure.

I bought these trend diamond plates because they came highly recommended by a famous woodworker. I must say I hated them. They are suppose to be very flat and the diamond coating process is suppose to be superior to other diamond plates.I purchased 2 plates a180/400 grit and a300/1000 grit.Both plates were warped and would not quit shedding diamond grit. No matter how much I broke them in. They just keep putting deep scratches in my chisels and plane irons. I expected a lot more for my money. $300 almost and all I got was frustration and damage to my tools. I returned them and just went back to my $30 dollar water stones.
