A dependable brand of power supply
I bought this power supply for some under counter kitchen LED lights. I just installed it and all works good, but I have no long term feedback to report. I can say from experience, this is a good brand that I have used professionally for many years as an electrical engineer. The only thing funny is the name. It sounds like a company with good intentions. Ha-ha! But seriously, they are very good, dependable power supplies.

So far, the ultimate LED driver for most applications.
My first purchase of this item was exactly two years ago. I used it to power a proof-of-concept LED lighting system in our temporary bathroom (we are remodeling and had the contractor remake the old laundry room into a temporary bathroom). I built two lights:1 -- We have a mirror about 2 ft wide x 3 ft high over the sink. I built an inverted square "U" shape around the mirror using composite lattice trim, stapled to the wall (as I said, this was a temporary bathroom). To that I applied an LED strip cut into 3 segments to fit the U. These LEDs are 2835 (60/meter).2 -- The room did have a 2 ft electronic 2-tube fluorescent fixture. I disconnected that and attached two 4 ft 1.5x3/4 wooden strips painted whito the ceiling, centered in the room about 1 ft apart. To each strip I attached a 4 ft strip of 2835 LED (double-density 120/meter).The LED color chosen for both homemade lighting fixtures is 5000K (daylight), which is perfect for a bathroom -- everything is bright and white.I powered both lighting arrangements in parallel from one of these Mean Well power drivers. I added a PWM dimmer to the light over the sink because it was too bright otherwise. The overhead light (the two 4 ft LED strips) lit the entire bathroom very bright. All light in the bathroom was provided by these two LED arrangements, and the bathroom is very well lit, including inside the shower. Additionally, I added a Lutron MS-OPS2H motion occupancy sensor set for 5 minutes -- so the two lights turn on immediately when someone enters, and stay on while the bathroom is occupied (even while in the shower), and automatically turn off within 5 minutes of vacancy. Except for the temporary nature of the installation, this worked out perfectly -- so this lighting concept is now proven. I can't even begin to say what a joy this automated LED lighting has been -- it is virtually perfect. This Mean Well LED 12v 60w driver has been powering this entire lighting arrangement for two years without a flaw. There is no flicker or hum.I have decided to choose this driver to power all of the LED lighting I'll install, which also includes closets, pantry, under kitchen cabinets, built-in dining room cabinets (with glass inserts), and bookshelves. I'll use 2835 LED strips where I want bright, and 3528 LED strips (which are about 1/3 the brightness of 2835) where I want less bright background lighting (like bookshelves). Also, we have two 4 ft 4-tube electronic fluorescent fixtures in our garage. I've already had to replace the electronic ballast in one, and now the other has just gone completely dead (so likely that ballast has died too), plus the working one has two dim tubes. The garage ceiling is 16 ft high and I'm tired of fixing these things, so I'm in the process of converting both fixtures to LED -- no more maintenance, and brighter too! These Mean Well drivers are about the same size as the old ballasts so they fit within the same compartment. Just strip out the old ballast and fluorescent connectors, mount this LED power driver, peel & stick some LED strips to the reflector, and replace the plastic diffuser cover. Be sure to connect the LED strips in parallel to avoid voltage drop. I am using 5630 LEDs for this because they're twice as bright as 2835, but they need to be attached to a heat-sink material (which the metal reflector serves as very well). Voilà! -- a very bright LED light fixture even better than you can buy in the store! When I first bought this item two years ago I conducted a wide and deep search for what I thought would be the highest quality, most reliable LED power driver in suitable dimensions and appearance, and this is the one I chose then. I just conducted another intensive search and still can find nothing else (on Amazon at least) that compares. The only small gripe that I have is the mounting tab which is small and plastic. The maximum size screw it will take is #6 and you have to be very careful not to tighten too tight because if the plastic breaks it will be difficult to mount. This hasn't happened to me (yet), but mounting this driver is something I approach with due caution. I suggest using only a hand-powered screwdriver. My measurements:12.118V output, steadyAnd an important final note, many buyers insist that products be UL approved and bear the “UL” certification mark (which is primarily aimed at the U.S. market); however there are other organizations issuing safety certifications such as CE, ETL, etc. Safety certification is expensive and time consuming to obtain so many sellers take a shortcut and just apply a fake UL mark without obtaining certification. Underwriter Labs issues UL certification only to complete final products, but they issue a similar “Recognized Component Mark” (looks like a backwards “UR”) to components intended to be a part of a UL listed product. This power supply bears the UL component mark with certification E307078 and I was able to verify this certification was issued to “Mean Well Enterprises Co Ltd” as a Class 2 Power Supply. I’ve always feared that a shoddy electrical device could fail badly and potentially start a house fire, so knowing that this power supply has truly passed UL certification gives me a great deal of assurance that it is safe in both design and quality.

Good, but won’t last forever
On the recommendation of a lighting specialist, I started using Meanwell converters for a large number of 12volt LED backlighting projects. The specialist told me to expect these to last for “50,000 hours” or something like that. So I buried them behind walls and in other hard to access areas. Over about 8 years I’ve had 3 fail. One might have been due to the unit being undersized for the number of lights I ultimately added to the string. But the two others were simple failures. Requiring me to dig into the wall to replace them. Now, whenever replacing or installing new units, I try find an accessible place to mount/install the converters. I also double the amperage of the unit, reasoning that a larger converter will heat up less and fail less often with a given load. Not sure if that’s true, but given the price these days, it’s not that much more expensive. When I started installing these 8 or 10 years ago, they were costing about $50 or $60 retail. Now I find them here on Amazon for $15 or $20. At that price, a failure every couple of years is not a big deal, not if I have easy access to it, that is.

It works very well
It meets my expectations, it was a replacement for my under the counter LED lights.

High quality and efficient
I bought the 60W sealed 12V power supply after troubleshooting the built-in LEDs in my house and determining the power supply had failed. This replaces a low-quality dangerous power supply with open high voltage connections and will likely last a lot longer. It powers 6 LEDs in various places that were installed when the house was built and the measured load is 2W. I have it inside a vented structured wiring metal box in a wall and this form factor fit very easily. It is heavy for its size, which is likely an indication of the high quality. Now that I know about Mean Well, I'm sure I'll be buying more stuff from them in the future!

Works with my DC dimmer. This is a Euro ...
Works with my DC dimmer. This is a Euro model and there are no instructions with the unit. The wire color designation is different than USA, so Check on line for instructions. Will see how long this Chinese project lasts. My last one died in less than 2 years
