Very long lasting battery, good audio.
The music player comes with a set of in-ear headphones, and a USB charging and music transfer cable. The USB cable has a standard USB A to USB mini B connector, so you're likely to have a few already which means there's no chance you'll have locating a cable! The headphones are ok - they don't have padding for the ears, and they're very light on bass sounds. They'll do "in a pinch", but they don't serve the audio quality of the music player at all. Using your own expensive headphones, you'll hear excellent audio from the MP3 player. The MP3 player has a colour screen on the top half, and a control pad on the lower half of the front face, which makes it easy to navigate the menus for finding the various features of the player. These include:E-Book, FM Radio, Video player, voice recorder, image viewer, and the main bit - the music player. There's also a settings option where you can set the date and time, as well as things like the screen brightness. The side of the device has a slot for the Micro SD Card (up to 64GB - about 16,000 songs worth of space, the built in 8GB provides space enough for around 2,000 songs.)On the bottom is a "hardware" power switch that will cut off power entirely - for storing the unit for long amounts of time without the battery draining. You can turn the music player off and on as well via the control buttons - this skips the "boot up" stage so it's a bit faster, but some power is used waiting for you to press "on" again, so the battery will very gradually drain over weeks. There's a standard 3.5mm jack here for headphones, and lastly the micro USB B socket that's used for charging, and/or transferring songs to the inbuilt memory, and any additional Micro SD card you've added. The music player is good - the audio is excellent, and track setup is fairly simple once you're skimmed through the instruction manual.Volume and track select is controlled by the control buttons. All the other modes - image view, e-book and so on are serviceable, there's no bugs that caused crashes, and they are all controlled in similar ways through the control buttons. But you're likely spend most of your time listening to music. The player is excellent for long runs, and if you were to add a bluetooth mini transmitter and bluetooth headphones, and you get hours of wire free audio, without worrying about losing an expensive phone.I use mine for listening to music and the morning radio show on the way to work. It's excellent, and the battery is lasting as long as it was specified.Photographs:A: Charge/data cable, headphones, and MP3 player.B: The bottom showing 3.5mm jack, hardware power switch (for storing device), micro USB B socket.C: The right side showing (just barely) the micro SD card socket. Does a job, nothing more
As a budget MP3 player this does a job but don’t expect anything special. I bought this for my 7 year old son and it is good enough for him to listen to his music and audio books. I bought it on the strength of all the 5 star reviews, and whilst the player is no dud, it is certainly not a 5 star product, regardless of price.Plus points1) Price, obviously2) Uploading cds and files is fairly easy using standard drag and drop and appears to update in real time but it needs to be in an off state to work and so has no progress bar nor can you see anything happening3) The player shows relevant album artwork when playing4) It is basic, so little room for things to go wrong5) Plenty of options to find a particular song, artist or album if you’re happy to press the forward button loads of times. However, there is no ability to start mid-index, so you have really got to put those thumbs to use particularly if you have a lot of files loaded onto the player6) Batter life appears good. Has been used for a good few hours (and idle for many more) without the need to charge yetMinus points1) Not particularly intuitive controls. No up or down buttons, instead you have a menu button and a volume button and are reliant on the forward and back buttons for much of the up and down navigation. I’m sure we’ll get used to it but it feels peculiar. There is a small button for previous screen/menu though.2) Sound is bang average, perhaps expectedly, so don’t expect any depth or range.3) User manual is not the most helpful. It pretty much has the bare minimum info in there4) Screen quality is that of a c.2002 mobile phone. Again, fine if you just want something to play a bit of music and my son is more than happy to use a non-touchscreen product5) A bizarre on/off switch on the bottom of the player. When switching on, the current/last track may automatically start playing. We haven’t tried to use the radio, recording or ebook functions so can’t provide any further insight on the wider functionality. So, this is an ok MP3 player. It won’t leave you in awe but it is fairly reliable for the price you pay (I paid £19 on a lightning deal, reduced from £22 in July 2018). Great for people that want simple, no frills sound delivery to their ears but not one for people who like to hear every individual instrument clearly - as mentioned above, the sound range is not great so some instruments may get drowned out.

Best way to get back to MP3 players
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Â Even if I've been listing musing from my phone the last years, I wanted to get back to an MP3 player for a number of reasons I won't list here. I wanted something simple, but with a great sound quality, a good user interface, and at a reasonable price. This one got my eye, his design looked awesome, and I can now tell it feels awesome. After unpacking (cool packaging btw), I tried it and it has a perfect size, small but manageable, with a nice aluminium case that feels fancy to the touch. I turned it on (it came pre-charged) and connected it to my laptop, where I still keep my MP3 album collection. Five mins transferring songs (drag and drop, nothing else) and I still hadn't reached the max capacity of 8GBs, more than enough for what I need, but it comes with an SD slot for those wanting more space. And it also includes FM radio, that maybe some find useless but for me is a clear advantage. Auto tune took seconds to have the complete list of stations. It can also be used as a recorder (I tried and the quality is good enough) stopwatch and pedometer. You can also listen audiobooks, and watch video, but the screen is tiny, good for music info but that's it. I would also recommend using your own earphones, even if it comes with a pair. Oh, and I have used it for more than 20 hours and the battery is still intact, so I'm sure it will reach at least 40-50 hours of intensive use.So that's it, just what I wanted, my wife is getting jelous! Definitively recommended.
