Looks good BUT...
When I get one that actually works I'll possibly change this review. Mine would clean a hard floor but as soon as it was switched to carpet it stops.I've asked for a replacement. What the description doesn't tell you is that when you take delivery you have to send away for the stair and upholstery vacuum - a tedious chore, especially since I live a mile from my nearest mailbox. To make matters even worse Hoover tell you must register the product online AND submit a leaflet by surface mail. Hoover say the battery is only guaranteed for 6 months. I'm pretty sure that this is not legal in the UK, where products must be expected to last a reasonable time. A charging station allowing you to clip it to the wall would have been an improvement but you are stuck with a powerblock much the same as the many others you probably have. Finally mine arrived in a completely discharged state so couldn't be tested for 24 hours.UPDATE 17th Feb 2015I've now got a working version. It arrived partly charged this time and could be tested. It is easy to use, works fairly well and it's a lot neater than a full size vacuum with cables. Picks up cat hair well and it's very easy to empty. Compared with a Dyson it's very quiet even on the turbo setting. (Ever notice Dyson never let you hear the vacuum in their TV adverts?)I've upgraded my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. It loses stars because the promised hand vacuum still hasn't arrived and they did send me a non-functioning one.

Some good, some bad.
This cleaner picks up most dirt and debris. But I found I had to repeat clean or move dirt by hand on occasion. You have clean in a different way as this UNP will roll about due to its design. Also when storing it will not stay upright unless you lean it forward and balance it carefully. I have visions of it falling on its axis and snapping at the joint where the head is fitted. The dirt container filled on first use because it does not have the capacity of other cleaners. I would prefer that the 'free attachment' advertised came with the order. I had to go online and order the item seperately from Hoover. Part of the process involved looking for the serial number etc. Also I had to choose the vendor from a drop down list and Amazon was not on the list. They say it might be 6 weeks before I get the attachment. Not good enough Amazon. Having said all this I am very happy with the results. Better than my far heavier Vax. Cordless machines like this one are very easy and convenient to use. Its a matter of getting used to it and my carpets look brighter than ever.

Just isn't powerful enough!
Disappointed! As much as it says the power is. After the 4th time using it- it was never as powerful as the first use. The hand held however has been great!

Turbo power in a small package
Bought this today from Argos and am extremely impressed. I saw some differing opinions and was not sure whether to take the cordless plunge but couldn't be happier. Light, quiet, easy to use BUT the most important thing...picks up after my Springer Spaniel as well as my Vax did (blew up after 2 yrs). The Vax cost me nearly 300 quid so £170 now seems a bargain for this vacuum. All you have to do is to remember to empty it a bit more often but so what? My dog makes it his duty to shed hair every day but it is now just that bit easier to pick up after him in 5 mins. 50 mins run time is plenty for a good few total house clean ups. The turbo button makes it sound like a spaceship taking off too and improves suction on a tough carpet. Will never go back to a corded vac.

Good Buy
Received this item today and so far pretty impressed, although one thing to note is that the free handheld vacuum promotion by Hoover ended on 1st July 2015. I purchased on 28th July and was mildly miffed to find the Hoover leaflet telling me this and the web link to claim it invalid. HOWEVER I contacted Amazon via their online Live Chat thingy and they are sending me a handheld free of charge so kudos to Amazon for their customer service on that one. I'm also assured that the item description will be updated so apologies if this review makes no sense now!Anyway, the Hoover UNP264P001 Unplugged Cordless Vacuum seems really rather good, it's not quite as light as I was expecting but certainly much lighter and more manoeuvrable than my Maytag Upright. It's ridiculously easy to put together, it took less than 5 minutes from opening the box, all that's needed is a screwdriver for the one screw. The manual says it will need a 24hr charge before using but mine arrived three quarters charged so I had a go straight away (because i'm a bit sad and I get excited by new vacuum cleaners!). Both the carpet and hard floor functions are good, I was amazed by the amount it sucked up (mostly dog hair) given that I hoovered this morning with my big hoover. I also love that the cylinder is transparent so you can see what you've sucked up - I find it strangely satisfying! I haven't tried the Turbo function or emptied it yet as the cylinder is a fair bit bigger than I was expecting and I reckon I could do our whole 5 bed house before I need to empty it but you just press a button and lift out - simples! It is a bit unsteady as it doesn't lock upright and is quite tall so will slide to one side if you prop it against a table. It will stand up unaided but wouldn't take much to knock over, but it lays flat so you can just put it down if you need to leave it while you're using it. One big advantage of this over other cordless vacuums is that the power button slides and locks so you don't have to keep a button depressed to use. It seems to get pretty close to edges and corners, although the lack of tools means that it's not great for cars or stairs e.t.c. (hence why Hoover decided to give away free handheld versions I suppose!) and the swivel head is good for getting under and around furniture. Also, the charger is small (about the size of your average phone charger) with a decent length cable which goes straight into the back so no bulky transformers or cradles. The noise level is excellent - it's remarkably quiet on carpet and hard floor modes, I could still hear the T.V. whilst using it. And, of course, the main feature - the lack of a cord! It really is so much easier to move around without wrapping a cable around your legs and having to go back and unplug! I can't comment on the battery life yet but it claims 55 mins from one charge without Turbo so if I get that from it i'm happy.Overall a good buy I reckon, perfect for 'in-between cleans' and smaller spaces, I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this hoover. I'll update after I've used it for a while and may well increase to 5 stars.
