Great cage, but with some shortcomings
First of all, this is a VERY well built cage. It replaces a 12 year old cage that in my view was not as well made and cost over $500 from an online store. I have an African Grey congo, and it is ideally sized for him. The assertion made by one reviewer that the bars are too thin is just plain wrong. Perhaps a Macaw could bend them, but certainly not an African Grey. Now for this issues:First, the instructions: They are more of a parts list than an instruction sheet. That said, I had no difficulty assembling it--took about 45 minutes simply because I loosely assembled it first before tightening everything down. If you can't manage this yourself, find someone who can. Really, it is quite easy if you just take your time and don't get frustrated by the number of nuts, bolts, washers, etc. Before you begin, sort them and count them and look for the corresponding locations on the cage before you begin. It really isn't hard at all.Second, the wheels: They are strong enough and large enough to carry the weight of the cage. It rolls easily on the floor, and I have rolled it over thick pile carpet and hardwood floors with no problem. However, they lack wheel locks, which my last cage had. It really should have wheel locks, as it rolls easily enough to be a nuisance.Third, the food dishes: There are too many (6!) and are too small and quite cheap. They are plated stainless, but in my opinion, will not outlast the cage. 3 dishes of larger size, preferably porcelain or similar, and stronger construction would be preferable. Remember, every dish must be cleaned and filled separately. A real nuisance. I bought one aftermarket large bowl, mounted to the bars of the cage, for the dry food, and kept two of the small bowls for water.Fourth: Insufficient fasteners in one case, and too many in another. They do not correspond with the construction of the cage.Fifth: There are five bowl mounting flanges, but only 4 bowls and 4 mounting straps. The 2 other bowls are meant to be mounted on a dowel that spans the opening at the top.Sixth: The pine dowel provided as a perch. The hardware supplied does not work in mounting as the bolts are too long. This leaves to bowls to wobble all over the place. That said, there is no need for the bowls. If your bird is hungry, he/she will find his way to the food dishes within the cage. The dowel is soft pine (mine was split at one end where a slit was sawed to mount it to the cage). My Grey would chew it to bits in a matter of a few days. Forget the dowel and the bowls, as they are useless. If you want to put perches on the outside of the cage, buy some aftermarket ones of appropriate size and mount them on the sides or top of the cage.Seventh: The cage floor is merely spray painted. It will take only a few months to rust as it is. I plan to sand it and re-coat it with something that will last. No worry about the bird being exposed to it, as there is a cage panel separating the floor from the interior of the cage. A better floor would be made of plastic! Bird droppings a corrosive and will destroy ordinary paint and any metal other than stainless or galvanized steel. I have a very inexpensive cage I bought for a Sun Conure I also own, and IT CAME WITH A PLASTIC FLOOR!Eighth: The one horizontal perch provided is too narrow (about 1" in diameter) and too smooth for a bird the size of an African Gray. I purchased an appropriately sized perch from Amazon to replace it. You need to find one that is the exact width of the cage, which is 27-1/2 inches. These are available if you look for them. Cost around $12.The cage itself, again, is very well built and quite nice. Others may have ranked it 3 stars because of the shortcomings, but I would buy it again, even with the quibbles cited above.

Horrible Cage, Holes Don’t align & u need a drill!
SAVE YOURSELF RUN LIKE HELL to another manufacturer/distributor!. DO NOT buy this cage! This cage is NOT worth a penny! It is useless, the holes don’t align & you CANT put it together unless you have your own drill, I do not & even disabled I put together over 20 cages of similar size. After finding the holes did not align and the cage could NOT be safely put together, MULTIPLE calls to AMAZON , emails from the distributor who is unreasonable & I am stuck with it! I have now hired an outside contractor to drill holes and attempt to assemble this! I AM FURIOUS w/an estimated $250 to TRY to assemble this disaster. Upon reading other comments, I fully believe this is the distributors way of getting rid of a bad batch of cages! I am also furious with AMAZON & their SORRY “it’s not our fault“, it’s a third party distributor comments. Multiple calls were made to Amazon and emails to the distributor! I am screwed! DON’T find yourself in my situation! Save yourself!! I am reporting both Amazon and distributor to the BBB!

Great Cage!
Ordered this cage after I put a deposit down for a African Grey Congo as I await it's 14 week weaning period at the Aviary. I really like the design and the selling price (even with the S&H charge) was very competitive with others of this size for a larger bird.It was delivered in two separate boxes. My biggest complaint (as was many other reviewers) was the lack of instructions. I basically had to figure it out on my own. It comes with 1 piece of paper with a few pictures that are not helpful at all. I'd feel for someone that depended heavily on written instructions. At times it was frustrating, but nothing I couldn't figure out.It comes with plenty of spare screws and what have you in the event a couple are lost. It's hard to say what impact this has had on my African Grey as I won't have him for sometime at the time of this review.Outside of the lack of instructions I would say this is a great high quality, well built bird cage. I have one next to it for my Cockatiels and it blends really well with it.I would recommend whipping your cage down before putting your bird inside because afterwards I felt like I just performed a oil change on my car with the amount of dirt on the pieces. I'd recommend vinegar on a moist sponge perhaps? 4 stars for the great cage design, quality, & price. 1 missing for no proper instructions and it being dirty.

fine for the price
pros: lots of cage for the money. front latch works great. good finish. dishes are easy to remove from holders. easy to assemble. rolls easily. sturdy.cons: bottom tray doesn't fit well, had to be lubed. top latch is hard to work. came with a few drops of welding spoil that had to be dremeled off. dish holders are easily removed (escape risk) unless the retaining arm screw is extremely tight. one dish had a crack, won't hold water. won't fit through a standard interior door with the "seed" fender on.

You get what you pay for.
Purchased this cage for an African grey parrot. Cages can historically cost $700 so I thought this was a good deal. You get what you pay for. It is difficult to assemble due to what I believe is mass production resulting in warped pieces and over sprayed weld/paint. When trying to get the screws to go into place with warped pieces the receiving holes stripped. Also while placing the wheel into place excess welding material prevented the screw from going into the hole. Luckily for me I have a husband with some ingenuity! Tap and dye set along with extra screws, nuts and bolts got us completed. The cage works well for our parrot. The opening top is a neat idea however a African grey will not stay put on the peg. He does travel about in and out of the cage. The feeding cups could be a bit bigger but there are more than two so it makes up the difference. The wheels are well made and roll well. Overall worth the money as long as you can get it together.
