I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It helps the average fan navigate the vast world of Tolkein with chronological explanations of all the major events from the creation of Middle-earth to the post-Lord of the Rings era. It’s a quick read - I managed it in a day but it has given me some inspiration to delve deeper into Tolkein’s writings. The flexibound edition is so beautiful with the embossed dragon and gold foiled lettering. I will enjoy having this on my shelf for years to come.

If you like Tolkien's work, probably you know "The Silmarillion", IMO the best book to understand the time placement from his Fantasy World.David Day provide some complement to the information you can get directly from Tolkien's Silmarillion. It not so extensive but it is wrote in a nice read.The bounded book is quite pretty with its textured cover. Very well done.Recommended for all Tolkiens's fans.
