great case
After I received my Nexus 7, I began to search for a well-built folio style case for the device. I think I found that in the Devicewear Dante case. It is exactly what I was hoping it would be and more. It has a soft non-glossy vegan leather. The pocket that houses the tablet and the inside cover is a fine micro-cloth keeping your tablet clean. The case was made and designed for the Nexus 7 and it fits like a glove. Other cases I researched were merely rebranded Kindle Fire cases. There is a difference between the two and this Dante is retooled to make sure that every exterior functional button, camera/light sensor hole, mic, headphone, and charging points are accompanied for, even the rear speaker! I'm also happy to report that it indeed does wake up the tablet and put it to sleep...exactly like the iPad cover does. The craftsmanship in this case is outstanding. Seriously...quit reading this review and click "Add to Cart"!

Good, with convenience well integrated to the design
The swiveling cover is an excellent way to make a cover. I am not sure the cover is really leather, seems synthetic to me, though a good synthetic. Stitching was all very good. Fit the device pretty well though not perfect. It can slide a bit sideways at times. A minor issue though short of perfect. I like the color of it. Not garish, but easily picked out when you have set the tablet down and are looking for it. The ability to prop it up in landscape or portrait orientation is very nice. Especially so for reading or viewing video. Cover seems sturdy enough to offer pretty good protection and is simple to use. I have received compliments on the appearance.

Beautiful and well worth purchasing
I bought the N7 and then had to have a case shipped ridiculously fast due to my inability to maintain electronics without dropping them (thank you Amazon prime!). I chose this one based on the excellent reviews and was startled (happily) to see how inexpensive this gorgeous-looking cover was. Now that I have received it, I can say it is well-done! High quality, a nice trendy color (I got the blue) that I can't possibly misplace (ok, I probably still can) and looks like it cost a lot more than it did. Most importantly, I can now leave the safety of the couch with it, without fear that I'm going to destroy my new N7. I love the on-off magnet, but have noticed it doesn't work ALL the time when closing it. Sometimes it stays on after I close the cover if I'm not careful about how I do it. I leave my screen on for 2 minutes rather than the default, so battery can be a slight concern if you have your display set to stay on longer. Slight. Not enough for me to deduct a star, and this thing turns right on the second I open the cover and that's really the magic for me. The rotating thingamajig works great, and I was able to rotate and prop my N7 and read an entire book yesterday without hand cramps, which is another big plus for me. The tab holding the N7 in place doesn't bother me at all, and while the N7 can shift around a tiny bit, it's not a concern to me as the slippage does not interfere with my viewing of the screen, the camera or any of the access points. My only issue at all is the placement of the power button on the N7 itself, slightly to the back of the machine, which makes finding it by feel while in a case a bit obnoxious for the clumsy people. I don't think a case could accommodate that design "feature" without leaving it susceptible to scrapes and damage to the unit, so no stars off for that either. Overall, I wasn't expecting it to be as beautiful and functional as it is, due to the really affordable price, and I'm thrilled with it.

Nice, sturdy case with good protection and horizontal rotation
I looked at many Nexus 7 cases before deciding on this one, and I'm very happy with it. The tablet fits inside perfectly and snugly. As many others have mentioned, it has all the appropriate openings for the camera and all other controls.....nothing is blocked. It's is not the lightest case, but I wanted one that offered a decent amount of protection. I drop my iPad constantly, so I know I will drop this one at some point. It's very sturdy and appears very protective. The perimeter of the case around the front of the tablet seems thick enough so that if you drop it flat and face down, it should offer enough protection so the glass doesn't touch the floor. Now of course, if its dropped glass side down on a surface that is not flat, like onto rocks, I am sure it would probably break. I do NOT want to be the one to test that out! One side/half of the cover has two indented slots from top to bottom in where you can prop the tablet so that its sitting up. Propping up this way has worked fine for me. The tablet, while inside the case, can also be rotated to be propped up horizontally as we'll. For me, this works best using the slot closest the the outer edge of the case. It stays put better than when in the slot that holds it up higher and straighter. It's not that big a difference, so it doesn't bother me at all, but some may be annoyed by it. I have no issues when rotating it.....it rotates nice and smoothly. Some reviewers mentioned that it is not a sleep case, however, mine Does have the magnet and the sleep function works perfectly. When you open it up again, the tablet wakes right up. The magnet seems strong enough so that if its closed and you drop the case, the magnet should hold it closed. I did a test.....closed it up,held it up, and dropped it about 3 feet onto my bed and the case did not open at all. I bought the light blue color and really like it. It almost looks like a Tiffany blue. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase, it's features, and the protection it seems to offer, and would definitely recommend it.

Nice design and quality but cannot hold and stand doesn't work.
So I got my nexus 7 but needed something to make it more stabilized, durable and comfortable in your hands (edit, how are you suppose to comfortably fit this in your hands with the backing in the way?) Pro: The color is exactly as pictured which is a pale turquoise blue. I didn't want to get the pink because I thought it would be distracting. The leather is high quality and very comfortable and no leather smell. HOWEVER you cannot really hold this tablet in your hands due to the backing being so thick and not detachable. The design is very attractive especially with the back (in which I thought was a way to open and close it but its not). Its a unique style that is perfect for a tablet. It actually does go into sleep mode but sometimes I have to close it twice. Great price. Cons: The stand up position DOES NOT WORK! It falls right down on the back side thats suppose to support it and has nothing to stabilize it with. Isn't this case supposed to be a stand up case both vertical and horizontal?!I read this in the comments but bought it anyway. So if you are looking for a stand up cover do not get this. The magnet isn't as strong as I thought it would be vs the ipad magnet. Would of been nice to be able to use the back circle thing to be able to close it tight. Wish it was vegan leather. Access to buttons and on screen bottoms is kind of blocked but manageable.

Excellent case for the Google Nexus 7
This is a great product. Like the other reviewer said it's so pretty. It's light pink, which is one of my most favorite colors - I'm not a fan of hot pink or strong pink colors. The case weighs a little over .5 ounces so with your Google Nexus 7 it will weigh a little over a pound. (EDIT: The GN7 weighs about 11.99 oz or 340g). One of the great features is that this will get your GN7 to stand up either in portrait or landscape aka horizontally or vertically & unlike the usual ipad cover, this case allows you to type in bed or lying down, hands-free except for your fingers typing on the screen keyboard. (EDIT: What I mean is that you can put it on your chest stomach area & it will stand by itself in this Devicewear case. You can also do this on any surface but it's a great feature of this case as you can lie down in bed and type, as I did for most of this review.) When you open and close your case, just like the ipad case it will turn on and off the GN7. Another great feature is that I now feel that my GN7 will be able to get through the airport without scratching and that I can travel safely with it. Lastly, all the holes & inserts are in perfect alignment with the GN7.

A mostly well-designed case for the Nexus 7
Last year I bought a Devicewear rotating case for my Kindle Fire, and I really liked the way it functioned. This year when I got a Nexus 7, I looked for a corresponding Devicewear case for it. As the previous one, this protective case slips on easily, fits the device well, and rotates easily from landscape to portrait. The easel function works even better than the previous one -- the angles are better for reading. The smart on/off switch is particularly handy (I keep looking at the opening as I'm closing it, just to make sure it's really shutting off -- sort of like trying to peek at the light in the refrigerator!). I have two complaints: The textured leather-like material actually looks more plastic-like than the smooth material that was used on my Kindle case, but that's minor. A more critical issue is that the edge of the case opening closest to the back/home buttons when in landscape view protrudes just enough that when I touch these icons, the edge sometimes keeps my finger from making contact, so I have to touch repeatedly. If it were just a tiny bit narrower on that side, I think the issue could be averted. If the material could be cut without damaging the item, I might try doing it.

Very pleased with this case
Accidentally left the review as seller feedback instead of on this item's page so I'll paste it here again... This is a very nice case, and has all the features I was looking for: -access to all ports/buttons -portrait/landscape display angles -sleep/wake function -easy to put on and remove -soft leather-like material -not too bulky I love the blue color too and have gotten many compliments on it! Ever since getting this case I've been carrying my Nexus around with me everywhere (quite literally...everywhere...home, work, shopping, hiking, used as a GPS when I'm driving...) because it protects it well and looks great. The padding does not take up much space but seems to absorb impacts effectively; I dropped my Nexus onto concrete once and it was fine. The inside of the front cover is also made of some kind of soft microfiber cloth which cleans up the screen, which is a nice added bonus. One thing some people might find bothersome is that the device is held in place by a little tab that you tuck around it, and this tab doesn't fasten to anything with a button or velcro, so sometimes it allows the device to slide a little to the left in the case. This wasn't a big deal to me though, since it only moves about a millimeter or two and you can still see the whole screen within the border. I prefer being able to remove the device or put it back in easily without fiddling around with fastenings so I won't take off any stars for this minor issue. Overall I love this case and it has greatly enhanced the enjoyment I get out of my Nexus :) For the price it's great!
