So easy to use
I have used this tool for four windows now! Brilliant little tool, so easy to use.

OK at best
Works but you have to check it regularly as it moves slightly each time you use it and that's the last thing you want when clipping 100's of slats.

Snapped before I cut a slat!!
I took this out of the packet, opened and then pressed the arms together, (cutting motion) and the small pieces of plastic that hold the spring in snapped! Bah!, so poorly made, couldn't cut fresh air, let alone a venusian blind slat!!Ordered a while ago and only just got round to using it, so not eligible for return.

Great tool
I have a 4ft blind in one of my windows, and having had some work done to the house recently, the gap isn't quite big enough for the blind any more, as the blind fits inside the window recess. So I bought this tool, on the basis that it's cheaper than having a made-to-measure blind, which is the only way I'd get one to exactly fit. I read previous reviews suggesting this tool was "flimsy" but I didn't find that at all. It's made of what feels like heavy-duty plastic, with metal cutting blades. It also has a fold-out length gauge which lets you accurately (more on this later) cut each slat by the exact same length. Clippings are collected in the tool, which is a nice feature/side-effect of the gauge as the bits don't fall all over the floor. The gauge closes in when you're done and holds the spring mechanism closed for storage. You do have to do the slats one at a time. I tried two, it won't do it. So the upshot is, this is a massively tedious job. My blind took about 40 minutes, including sawing off a bit of the top rail. This is the only problem I found with the tool - as you're cutting slats, the gauge moves out ever-so-slightly with each cut, so if you do about ten or so without emptying the collected cuttings, the gauge can have come out 4-5mm. Not noticeable when it's happening gradually, but when you push it back in, there will be a 5mm or so "step" in the side of your blind. So do watch out for that or maybe sellotape it in place to stop it from moving. Where the gauge hinges onto the tool is just riveted. It would benefit greatly from some sort of tightening screw/clip.The slight design flaw is the only reason I've scored this item 4/5 instead of 5/5. Otherwise it did a good job.

Pretty straight forward
Not the greatest quality (a little too plasticy) but it does the job. Once you get the hang of it I flew through cutting my blinds down to size.

Worked but only after some fettling!
Thankfully I’d read the reviews so knew roughly what to expect. The first problem was that after opening them for a trial run they would not close, let alone cut anything. After a bit of careful work with a file I managed to shape the blades so that not only would they close but cleanly cut.The second issue was incidental for me as I was fortunately using their closest setting for length and readjusting the length after every other cut was comparatively straightforward but for any other length would be a complete pain.Thankfully, with a bit of work, just adequate enough to do the job but hope never to have to use it again!

Adjustable guide kept moving
Works as it should and leaves a nice rounded cut however the slider kept moving so I was cutting at different lengths. The only way round it was to superglue the slider in place! I had to buy a new blind in the end and have another go.
