The Primary Mathematics U.S. Edition series of elementary math textbooks and workbooks is meant to be part of a system of learning in which adult supervision and independent practice go hand in hand. The main feature of this series is the use of the Concrete to Pictorial to Abstract approach. Students are provided with the necessary learning experiences beginning with the concrete and pictorial stages, followed by the abstract stage to enable them to learn mathematics meaningfully. This approach encourages active thinking process, communication of mathematical ideas and problem solving, which helps develop the foundation students will need for more advanced mathematics. Practice exercises are designed to provide the students with further practice after they have done the relevant workbook exercises. Review exercises are provided for cumulative reviews of concepts and skills. All the practice exercises and review exercises are optional exercises. The color patch is used to invite active participation from the students and to facilitate oral discussion. The students are advised not to write on the color patches. Above extract from Preface of Primary Mathematics U.S. Edition (reproduced with the permission of the publishers). The textbooks contain the learning tasks for students to do under adult supervision and interaction, along with practice and review problems. They are meant to be non-consumable and to be used along with the Primary Mathematics Workbooks. Answers or answer keys for Primary Mathematics U.S. Edition textbooks and workbooks are found in the teacher's guides and home instructor's guides. Answer keys booklets are also available - one for Primary 1-3 and one for Primary 4-6. Review: Great program - We love the Singapore Math workbooks. We have used Grade 1 through Grade 4. The program introduces concepts a little differently than schools around here but it seems to work better. All three of my kids have had no problem grasping the concepts as they present them. There is little demonstration in the workbooks on how to work the problems. After grade 4, I'm going to have to buy the text book. I've had to look up a few things that I've forgotten in this Grade 4 workbook especially on fractions. I feel like my kids are getting a comprehensive math program. The only thing we've had to supplement is memorizing math facts and multiplication tables. The topics for 4A are: Whole Numbers Multiplication & Division of Whole Numbers Fractions Graphs Angles Perpendicular & Parrallel Lines Area & Perimeter The topics for 4B are: Decimals The four Operations of Decimals Measures Symmetry Solid Figures Volume There are periodic review sections throughout the books. Review: Arrived fast - We love these workbooks for primary math. My daughter finished her 3rd level book faster than I had anticipated and she needed the next level fast. I ordered the workbooks Saturday and planned to pick up the textbooks at our local consignment shop on Monday. The workbooks arrived Sunday! Love that they were in stock and shipped so fast. Thanks for keeping my girl math happy 😆

Every parent should use this to support their child's education.
I have been using these books since my son has been in grade one. He is not home schooled. I use these books to support his mathematical abilities. The workbook goes at a nice pace and provides enough examples that he doesn't need much intervention from me. Each concept builds on the prior exercise. He can sit at the table and complete an exercise while I cook dinner.

Practice skills
Took a star off because the price is too steep for the quality. Material is a bit dry. Mostly useful for drilling skills.

Great workbooks!
Great workbooks- organized well. Helps make math time easier. Would have been helpful for me to buy the instruction book too, as this is just the workbench ok with no explanations. 😁

Not a textbook, and no answers
These are excellent workbooks, but there are few explanations on how to solve the problems, and there are no answers. Probably need to buy the companion textbooks unless you are good at math, in which case you can save some money by buying the workbooks only.

Singapore Math is great and both my boys love it
Singapore Math is great and both my boys love it. I just got 4A and 4B for my 4th grader and he does great with these. I love that he's not afraid of word problems! The pace is perfect and the kids learn at a pace that gives them confidence and tricks them into thinking it's easy while learning a ton.
