Cole's Raw Peanuts
I give these raw peanuts a 5 star rating because my backyards friends devour them. As a beginner bird watcher, I initially purchased the peanuts to attract the Bluejays. I accomplished my goal. I must say, I was somewhat leery of making the purchase because of the price, but I mixed in black oil sunflower seeds and regular bird seed to stretch it. Using that method made it cost effective. I would recommend this product for those trying to attract Bluejays, woodpeckers, and other backyard friends.

Peanut for all
We go through a pound every two weeks as only small birds can get to the peanuts (the peanuts are inside an open wild bird aviary). We seen 8 different species eat them and come back for more (Nuthatch, titmouse, chickadee, grosbeak, Spotted towhee, purple, house, junco - I may have missed some...).When I get them, I spend 15 minutes dividing the bag to 5 equal portions, vacuum seal and freeze the packages. They will last over a year like that.

A little to small for Squirrel Buster
These wont drop out of my Squirrel Buster feeder but they are pretty easy for the birds to get out which means they go quick. You want the birds to have to work for the nuts a bit not just be able to fly ways with them.

bettter than expected
clean nuts with no shells.I was surprised that there are no broken shells and 99% whole peanuts. The blue jays nesting across the street are here daily, fledges from multiple clutches in various feathering stages have made frequent appearances.I even have a woodpecker who takes the peanuts. Some don't like them but I have a family of crows and their fledges who occasionally stop by.

If you want the birds to leave then these are the nuts for you
So on the rating scale a 2-star reads as "I don't like it"- well I'm not 100% sure I don't like it but I am 1000000000% sure the birds DESPISE it....I've never seen such an aversion to a peanut before especially by the crazy birds around my house- apparently they have a very sophisticated palate. I won't buy these again....I've seen the movie "The Birds" I know how the story plays out.

My birds didn't go for this
My woodpeckers and jays left this in the feeder for a week without touching it. I poured it out, mixed it with white peanuts and they started to eat. I had to mix this with the regular white peanuts for them to eat it all. I'm not sure if 'white' is the correct term, but these were red peanuts and my Illinois birds did not care for.
