So if you've ever used the original Ohm you know what I mean when I say the original was a pain when trying to pull slack. Especially if you're leading in a cave or steep angle. If your belayer moves a few feet away from the wall it hangs you up too much. We've had the original for a few years and deal with it. Well bring on the new version. First, it is easier to hook up on first bolt because it has a swivel head and you don't have to worry about it not pointing out. It aligns itself. Second, it is easier going pulling slack. Especially on overhang or if you're in a panic to clip and need some slack quickly. It will still hang but not anywhere near as bad. Third, it is much lighter that the original so easier to carry around. Fourth, my only ding is that the button you press to open it can be a real pain. Mostly when you're up on the wall and trying to get it open when you're beat from a hard climb. The original is easier in this case. If you own an original and don't care about the above then you may not want to buy this. They're not cheap. My friend has an original and is very happy with it and doesn't want to change.

Highly recommended if you lead climb with someone significantly different sized from you. The mods from the original are noticeable improvements!

Absolutely a must have for anyone afraid of getting their belay device stuck in the first clip. I have a significant weight difference from my climb partner and this alleviates weight disparity concerns so you can focus on the climb.

Los estamos probando y resulta muy bien ,en cuerdas con mucho uso se puede trabar un poco ,pero si la cuerda está buena ,corre sin problemas.hay q practicar para poder dar seguro y q el escalador pueda dinamizar bien .En nuestro caso hay 25 kilos de diferencia y el asegurador pudo con el seguro

Tested it on the gym with different belayers (weights) and it is truly awesome. No hard falls, belayers all felt good and actually surprised of how much the “weight” of the fall is reduced

It feels that you can insure with a difference of more than 25 kg. The belayer with equal weight did not feel my breakdown at all, the belayer with 25 kg lighter weight did not move at all. I recommend it!

Un produit qui permet d'assurer quelqu'un qui est beaucoup plus lourd que l'assureur. Ainsi, lorsque ma belle fille (60kg), ma petite fille (30 kg) et moi-même (95 kg) allons grimper, nous sommes en autonomie !!!! Je recommande !!!!

Wir gehen regelmäßig zum Klettern und ich wiege doch 27kg mehr als meine Frau. Seil in den Ohm gelegt, statt 1. Eckenverbindung in die Wand gehängt und schon geht der Kletterspaß trotzdem höherem Gewichtsunterschied los. Es gibt einem auch ein sicheres Gefühl beim Ablassen und im Sturzfall, da der Ohm den Unterschied des Gewichts ideal ausgleichen kann. Kein Kreuzklippen mehr notwendig und das ein und aushängen geht sehr schnell. Wir Klettern in der Kombination nicht mehr ohne den Ohm.

Definitely balances out weight difference between climber and belayer. I’m half the weight of my climbing partner and when they fell off the ohm managed to take the brunt of the fall.
