Kipper the mischievous dog is back with five animated adventures. In 'Looking After Arnold', Kipper wears himself out taking care of Anold in Pig's absence; 'The Swimming Pool' sees Tiger becoming wary about the wave machine when his friends decide to go for a dip; 'Cakes and Tails' has Kipper and Tiger thinking that they can hear a lion prowling round the park; while 'The Long Walk' finds Kipper and Tiger setting themselves up as explorers; finally, in 'The Surprise Party', Jake thinks that all his friends have forgotten his birthday.

Great for little ones
I have introduced my 4 year old granddaughter to Kipper. We both love watching these, sitting hugging a huge Kipper dog and the toys from his toy box (which I have knitted). I would definitely recommend.

Hours of fun with Kipper,Tiger,Arnold and Jake
Each of the short films in this collection has its own appeal - sometimes they even have wildly differing moods. Then, of course, so do the children who want to watch each one. When Kipper spends most of an episode on his own such as in 'The Visitor' there is an entirely different feeling than when he interacts with his friend Tiger.Of the ones on this tape I find that 'The Seaside' causes the most humour with the youngsters who watch in our household. Tiger is such a know-it-all that it is always amusing when he puts his foot in it. He wants to be so organised that you can be frustrated along with Kipper who just wants a chance to relax and play about on the beach. There is a touch of a Laurel and Hardy routine when the two dogs set about securing their windbreak with a rather dangerous-looking mallet. Tiger's attempts to blow up his lilo are hilarious and even the everyday disaster of the tide coming in and sweeping him away is turned into sublime comedy when Kipper rides to the rescue.Kipper's encounter with the Bleepers and the consumption of the wrong end of a lollipop makes these strange aliens appear totally unthreatening. One of them even brings a teddy bear to comfort his companion !The music so often underlines the tone of each experience as for instance when it mirrors the flight of the butterfly. The contrasting voices of the actors bring to life the characters of the animated creatures in a charming and captivating fashion.

Perfect relax before bedtime
Every day we sit and watch some Kipper before bedtime. My 22 month old sits enchanted and follows the story avidly. He is a great lover of his Kipper books and so enjoys Rocket the best since it is very close to the book. His Dad loves it too - Rocket is his favourite. Everything in our house stops for Kipper after bathtime. The animation is so detailed which makes for interesting adult viewing too. Thoroughly recommended

Huge hit amongst the toddler set
We had to get this because our then 2-year-old loves Kipper, and we had just one dvd ('Fun in the Sun'). For the price of one Kipper dvd, you get this box set, which has two double-sided dvds in it. It's 24 'episodes' of Kipper for under $7!! Our now 2 1/2 year old loves Kipper so much that she calls the rest of us by Kipper's friends' names: I'm Pig, papa is Tiger, and her older brother (who also loved Kipper when he was younger) is Arnold, though she has learned to not call him Arnold when he is around. We've also had to limit her Kipper watching, as she is getting addicted, and asks for it everyday....If you don't know Kipper, but are looking for something for your toddler, this is perfect. It's especially good for kids that haven't had much exposure to television. The animation is simple and it is not too action packed. There is not too much background art to overwhelm your little one. There was just one scene (that had a dragon) that scared my niece when she was this age, but she really was not exposed to any tv or videos before that. My daughter didn't get scared at all from that scene (she has seen more advanced videos, due to having an older brother).

Kip-tastic!
So much Kipper! My daughter loves Kipper, and we love him, too! Short (less than 10 minute) episodes make for easy breaks in viewing, plus they are just nice little dogs playing and exploring. AND, if your child watches enough Kipper, they will start to sound like a little British child! "Do you want this? It's ever so soft." How cute is that??? Seriously, this is probably the BEST thing as far as toddler shows. It's nice and calm to listen to, encourages creativity and make believe, and it's fun re-enacting the scenes over and over and over and over again. This is also a great price for 4 shows. It's 2 DVDs in one package, so there is an "A" side and a "B" side, but it's not really clear which is which... and I think one of ours is backwards, but oh well. Love it anyway.

There's A Lot Of Good Things From This Cartoon I Can Relate To
I remember watching this as a kid in the 1990s and I loved watching it. The theme song to it was really cool and every episode they did of this show had plenty of things that I could relate to as a kid. Having fun with friends, spending time with family you got along with a lot, learning new things that we didn't know how to do at first and figured out how to do them on our own. The characters in this were memorable, the adventures in this made me think of how I played with my friends and others as a kid, there's a lot from this cartoon I could relate to in Kipper The Dog. This is a piece of history gold.
