Great value for top-shelf product
I am a big fan of Midea, their products are very well built, they have incredible customer service, and the prices are more than fair. This is my second AC purchase of their brand and I could not be happier. This unit comes with matter connectivity, which means that it seamlessly connected to my Apple Home and I can now easily control it from that app, along with all my other devices. It makes the room it’s in cool within ten minutes and if I leave the door open it cools the rest of my 700 sq ft apartment. It is not very heavy and it has weels that make it easy to move from one spot to another. The set up is incredibly easy and can be completed within 15 minutes! Incredible functionality at an incredible price!

Does the job, though I've had to find the sweet spot in the room
I was house and bedroom bound during my recovery from surgery. The building's HVAC/AC system was broken and they gave us a portable AC for the living room. I had to buy one for the bedroom - this has been doing the job of keeping the bedroom in the 70s for me, versus the high 90s without it, but I had to find the sweet spot for it to work best and still have to augment the cooling effect with my box fan on really hot days. The window kit is cheap and doesn't fit well, even with the foam pieces. But other than that easy to install. I live in a dry state so don't need to use the dehumidifier feature.I'm not sure it would work for as large a space it's rated for. If my window was in a different location maybe it would work better and I wouldn't need the additional fans. It is noisy, but I can live with that better than I can the heat.

Very happy!
Hi all. I bought the "Midea 8,500 BTU ASHRAE, model MAP05S1AWT". I'm including the model number, since this page seems to include several model reviews lumped in together.I couldn't be happier with this AC. Quiet, cold and very accurate in keeping temperature settings. It saves me quite a bit of electricity vs turning my main unit down at night. I had been turning the main unit down at night just to keep the bedroom cool. I decided to purchase this AC instead of paying the high cost of putting in a return vent for the bedroom, and I'm glad I did.It is an inverter AC, which has a variable speed compressor. A non-inverter AC has a fixed speed compressor. Variable speed compressors are more energy efficient than their fixed counterparts and make less noise as well.

Too noisy for me to care that it works well.
Genuinely disappointed. It’s a beautiful AC, don’t get me wrong, and it is pretty darn powerful too. If you have a small room and don’t mind a loud continuous fan with a lack of fine tuning then this is definitely a solid option. I’ll list the pros and cons; some of the cons are just so major to me that I have no choice but to try and return mine for a partial refund or try and find someone to buy/gift it to.Pros:-It’s incredibly powerful… it’s hard to believe it’s rated for only 150 square feet rooms.-It looks good and feels pretty premium built; so it’s not really an eye sore at all even with the exhaust tube behind it.-It’s relatively cheap and if you absolutely need a powerful AC for under 200$ then this is the way to go.Cons:OMG THE FAN MAKE IT STOP! I was under the impression that every AC by default would kick off if the temperature was already low enough. My room is 66 degrees F right now and I turned its temp setting all the way up to 81 just to see if the fan would stop and it’s clearly an “always running until you manually turn the whole machine off” kind of deal. I’d prefer something that kicks on when it has to in order to keep a steady temperature, not something that’s on all the time. If there was an option in the smart app to do that, I’d be a lot happier (there is but only for outdoor temperature. I’d make this a 4-5star rating immediately if they added that “scene” option for indoor temperature)The Fan even on low is louder than the fan of my living room window AC on high. I get that it has a long exhaust tube and must work harder to expel heat and so I’d be more forgiving of the sound IF I were to be able to set the AC up to turn off and on automatically as the temperature of my office room changed. The insulation that comes with the window panel kit is good BUT once you attach the exhaust tube to the panel, you’ll notice that there are some pretty noticeable gaps. I’m not to worried about heat getting in through just those gaps, but in my area stink bugs and beetles absolutely run rampant and if I still have this AC when fall comes around it’s definitely going to be a hot area for them to get in. (I’m aware that weather stripping tape exists; it just seems odd that a bit of it wasn’t sent along with all of the other insulation parts that were sent)No eco mode? I’ve looked everywhere and all I can find is a preset on the app for it to run at 84 degrees. My two other ACs allow for an eco mode while still running to maintain a lower target temp.In my situation specifically, I’m disappointed because I wanted a nice quiet energy efficient AC to run in my small computer room while I’m using my PC which tends to make the room quite warm. Does the AC cool the room well? YES. Do I want a jet engine running next to me in my small room while I’m trying to focus on my work? NO.This may be a me-mistake as this is my first tower AC that I’ve ever gotten. Amazon Rufus told me that it was an inverter type AC, but other sources say otherwise and the product page doesn’t say as far as I know. Just if you’ve never had this kind of AC and you’re thinking about it, make sure you’re okay with the cons I’ve listed.

Great Air Conditioner
First of all read instructions, make sure your AC is level and close to a window ! I used a large plastic container to collect the water! Must empty everyday! The Air Conditioner will cool a small place like my office ! Easy to assemble , Quiet and no problem’s yet! Highly recommend!

"The little engine that could"
Great value for the money. Its ability to cool a room is quite good for a bedroom but lacking for larger rooms. Great value for the money.

Easy to use and gets the job done!
I had a Midea window AC unit for a year and a half that I loved until some disgruntled HOA person decided those suddenly weren’t allowed. Purchased another brand that was noisy and seemed to be breaking in the first few weeks. That’s when I found this fella and ordered it immediately! Much quieter than the Serene Life product! Also love the app and being able to set schedules and what temperature. It’s like one of those old “set it and forget it!” commercials. Super easy to install. Cools down my 3rd floor west facing room that used to be 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. And haven’t noticed much of a difference in the power bill. So glad I found it! Only giving 4 stars since it’s a month old and I’m not sure how it works long term.
