Perfect - Just what I wanted to cover my 100 year old desk.
Perfect - Just what I wanted to cover my 100-year-old desk. I have a sturdy old desk that I wanted to keep the top from getting any more patina. The desk is 3 foot by 5 foot. The cover is 36 inches wide and maybe an inch or 2 longer than 5 feet. It is easily trimmed. It comes rolled up and quickly relaxes and smooths out once unrolled. It makes a great writing surface, unlike a glass top that would be too hard it has just the right amount of give.

VERY NICE!
I have Ethan Allen bedroom furniture. I’ve had the furniture for over 40 years. I’ve always put plexiglass on top to protect it. I was trying to get some new plexiglass and it is too expensive and needs to be cut to fit. Also, plexiglass can crack especially the edges. I came across this product by chance while on Amazon. I was so excited to find this size (16x54). It was a PERFECT fit! That was the exact size I needed. I ordered 2 of them thinking I would need to use both, BUT I am pleasantly surprised to see that 1 was perfectly acceptable. I kept the other one just in case I would need it down the road. I unrolled it and let it sit for an hour or so before placing it. It worked GREAT!!! I’m really happy with this purchase. I would definitely recommend it. I added several photos (4 in 1 photo) to show it the best I could.

Quality
I really like the thickness of it but I'm having a problem with 2 of the corners who still doesn't lay flat, i put weights on it over night and haven't made a difference unfortunately, i guess time will tell but overall I'm satisfied

Protecting my shelf
The size was not exact for my shelf or I'd probably love it. My shelf is still being protected, but the edge hangs off in the back.

Definitely Worth It
Just got this to protect the wood on dresser-turned-coffee station. It shows up very tightly rolled and I wasn't sure the ends could really be flattened. Directions suggest using a hairdryer but I did one better, I used a heatgun that I usually use for crafts. Within just a few minutes of heating up the sides and pressing down, it was flat. For good measure, once it was heated and flat, I pressed down further with a huge book. I let it sit there while I heated up the other side and did the same. My husband still wants me to keep a towel under the coffee tray because he feels heat under it and doesn't know if that'll ruin the plastic or hurt the wood. Because it's so thick, I doubt it'll happen, but not worth the risk since towel is just extra protection.I'd say for the price, ease of flattening, and its thickness, it deserves 5 stars.

Should work well to protect table top, but near impossible to get totally flat.
Price is a bit high, but not outrageous. But lost 2 stars for how it was shipped (in a roll). I unrolled it and put books on it for about a day until it would stay 'flat enough' to to not re-roll itself. Then I put books on it again for a couple days, but it still wasn't completely flat. I noticed there were instructions about using heat, so I submersed in hottest tap water, and it got a bit more pliable, but I still had to put books on it and am still waiting for it to fully flatten a week after receiving it. They need to ship it flat...UPDATE: Took off another star: it's been two weeks and still it does not lay perfectly flat. I found something heavier than the books (I didn't have enough heavy books to layer), that could cover the whole 18x24. It exerts 3-4 oz per sq inch and after 3 days, it still isn't perfectly flat!UPDATE2 9Jan24: I feel like I have tried everything reasonable to get this flat. After the above... I tried a heat gun, but it was too localized. Finally, I put in steam room set at hottest setting, and once it had been in there a while, and the tile was pretty warm, I placed a flat board on it with 40 lbs on top, and left it there at hottest temp still, while it cooled down, overnight. Still has small ripples.Oh! And also, it's not perfectly square. Seems that one edge was not cut square. A bit hard to see in the picture, but pretty apparent in person. One star; would do zero if I could...
