I've had my TowNew trash can for 3 months now, and I LOVE it!! It's the coolest trash can I've ever seen, and as far as I know there's no other company offering something like this. The fully automated bag-sealing process means I can 'take out the trash' without getting my hands dirty. Like other reviewers have said, it's small, but that's one of the things I like about it. Between the automation and the size, it encourages me to take out the kitchen trash more often, which keeps smells from building up. It has a small, understated profile that goes great with any modern decor. The bag changing system is so freaking easy. Taking out the trash is no longer a chore! With good trash cans costing $150 plus, I think this is a great value for the money. Will definitely be a long-time customer! Pros: - FULLY automated (lid, bag changing, bag sealing - all of it! I love not having to change bags!) - Small size - Long battery life! After the initial charge, I've only had to re-charge it once in 3 months - Extremely clean, minimal look - Good value - $100 for the trash can, plus $30 for 6 refill rings (150 bags) - obviously a little more pricey per refill than traditional trash bags, but it's worth it for the simplicity and ease of use - Novel 'cool' factor is always fun. This is definitely a talking point for anyone who witnesses the trash change process! Cons: - The trash bag material could be a little stronger. After a couple small rips in the beginning, I just stopped overfilling/pushing the trash down, and I haven't had any issues since!

I had been using an alternative product for a while and it was ‘acceptable’ in terms of getting the job done. My complaints were this: refills were expensive, it filled up to fast and I had to touch a lot of components to swap out the bags. ENTER THIS BADBOY TRASH CAN!!! Let me tell you, I was super skeptical. I waited to submit this review bc I wanted to really understand the capabilities of this thing. ITS ALL TRUE! Not only does it pull, cut, seal and disconnect the old bag, it also pulls a new bag for you. The auto open feature is great but you can also set it to hold open or closed! Also!!!! Take a look at the bag of kitty poo that these bags hold! Days on days worth! I was worried the weight would create issues and tear the bag or break the seal but NOPE!! So buy it!!!

I needed something to replace my compost bin and thought this could be a solution. I had no idea how effective it would be! It closes tightly after I add food scraps, then seals the bag fully when it's time to take it out. We live in the woods and in the summer the fruit flies are awful, but within days of starting to use this it had reduced how many we have by 90%! This is an amazing option for food trash and I cannot recommend it enough.

Used it for a year and it stopped working it turn on but just the uv light and that's it kinda sad because its pretty cool and also expensive

I have the medium size version of this product it’s the oval trashcan.. I keep in my bathroom and for small tissues or small items like Q-tips type things or cotton balls or things like that it works very very good when you have to stuff let’s say some sort of box into it the trashcan it will have some difficulty. It ultimately gets worked out… you waste a little bit of the trash bags because of it. But all in all it’s a pretty neat.. I would say that maybe it will become a standard item in hotel rooms and rental properties as the technology progresses.

Refill trash bags are so easy and convenient. I've been using these TOWNEW T1/T Air Lite Official Refill Rings for Smart Kitchen Trash Can for about a year now. I am still their biggest fan!! Although small, they do hold a significant amount and you can use them to the top or decide to not use them to a filled up point in order to get rid of something more smelly. My only suggestion for improvement is they need to be a few plys stronger, and it would be nice if they could cut off and provide a strap to hold them as you pull them from the melted edge. If the sack if full or heavy, that is the point at which your finger is most liable to push through the thin bag. This system, however, is absolutely fabulous!! If you are ever in doubt about giving one as a present to an elderly person, give, give, give. Yes, it is aggravating to have the lid pop up if any object, like a skirt hem, happens to go over the infrared sensor. Mine has given me a few other glitches where I thought it had broken or stopped working. Giving it a minute to rest, unplugging it, plugging it back in, and once fiddling with the button, and all reset for continued use. It has withstood lots of use in one year, including the amazed in sections by the grands and the greats. Their entertainment was a joy!! If you can afford this trash can and its refills, you can't go wrong.

You have to experiment with it to figure out how it will work best for you. I personally like it a lot! Some have complained that the sensor is too sensitive. It is until you find the right placement; I shoved mine back about an inch and it works much better. The bagging unit works fine and the can lets you know when you need to replace the cartridge, which is super easy to do. I do turn it off when I need to take a shower. Between the towel and my moving around, it would be opening and closing too much. This isn’t bad for me because I retired two months before covid and my shower frequency has gone way down. It is expensive, but I like not having to mess with smelly bathroom trash. Unless you like tech, you should think long and hard about putting this amount of money into a trash can. (I’ve got Amazon echo in every room of my house; I clearly love tech.)

I brought two of these garbage cans when they were still being crowdfunded. At the time, I was worried that refills would be hard to get. However, I have been ordering these on Amazon once a year for the past several years, and I have no regrets. The refill rings work perfectly and reduce waste. The bags are cut to fit their contents, and with all the recycling and composting, we don’t produce much garbage. The convenience of the refill rings means that I never run out and my hands never touch kitchen or bathroom waste.

I like them more than the plastic ones, they are a bit more sustainable.

Wirklich wirklich gut die Idee. Funktioniert tadellos, aber die Tüten sind nicht grade die Reißfestesten und der Motor geht sehr sehr schnell kaputt, wenn er öffnen will aber zB etwas drauf liegt. Daher 2 Sterne Abzug. Aber sonst ein verdammt cooles Teil.
