Vmaisi Magnetic Cabinet Locks for Babies (Stardand, Unit Count 4)

I installed the Vmaisi Adhesive Magnetic Cabinet Locks in our kitchen and bathroom, and they’ve been surprisingly reliable after several weeks of daily use. These are adhesive-mounted, so there’s no drilling required, and everything you need is in the box. What stands out: • Invisible design: Completely hidden once installed, so your cabinets don’t look “baby-proofed.” • Strong adhesive and latch: My toddler has pulled on these repeatedly and hasn’t defeated them yet. • Fast installation: Each lock took under a minute to mount, and the included alignment tool makes placement easier. • Built-in on/off switch: Nice for times when you want free access without removing hardware. • Magnetic dock for the key: The magnet comes with a little dock you can stick to a cabinet so there’s always a dedicated spot for it. This solves the common problem of misplacing the key. Things to consider: • If your cabinet doors are thick or uneven, you may need a little trial and error to get alignment perfect. • The adhesive has held well so far, but I can’t comment on how cleanly it will remove later. • You really want to use that magnetic dock or a designated spot for the key—it’s easy to misplace otherwise. Performance: The locks engage smoothly, release reliably, and have kept both cleaning products and snacks completely secure from my toddler. They feel sturdier than other adhesive-based solutions I’ve tried. Overall: A great option for parents who want effective childproofing without visible hardware or drilling holes. Affordable, easy to use, and the included magnetic dock is a thoughtful touch that genuinely improves day-to-day usability.

When I opened the package I was worried--what were all the parts? And would 3M tape really hold, because I wasn't ready to commit to drilling holes in my cabinet. The instructions weren't much help, but I watched the QR link to YouTube and it was an absolute breeze. They're strong, I'm not worried about hold. Easy to install. I haven't figured out how to attach them to a drawer with a cabinet lip, but I think it's doable. A little big, but such is life. Have yet to be child tested, but seem strong enough. Great price for these and pleasantly surprised by the ease of installation.

These solved a problem with my bathroom cabinets, that other cabinet locks wouldn't fit correctly. They install with adhesive so I didn't have to drill holes, are strong and holding up well. Easy to install, easy to use. There is only 1 shallow drawer that the dimensions would not work, so that is where I store the magnet. Very useful.

If I could give this 20 stars I would. These cabinet locks are lifesavers. Whether you own your home or rent, the last thing anyone wants to do, is screw baby locks into all the cabinets and drawers. This solves this, and they are so sturdy! My toddler has yanked on cabinets and doors so much with these on and they have held for 2 years with only one coming unstuck. Couldn't recommend enough if you are trying to baby proof!

Bought these several times over the past 5 years due to baby proofing and finding more places the babies/toddlers got into! I love how discreet they are behind closed doors, the strength of the adhesive and the super simple installation! Also love how it has the “lock/unlock” options just in case you don’t need it locked for the time being! The cabinet doors have been pulled on by my 5 and 3 year old and it holds firmly without budging! It has worked on bookcases with doors, bathroom and kitchen cabinets and even sliding barn door cabinet (when installed sideways, trust me, I’ve installed it the wrong way…TWICE 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️)! The only thing I would complain about is if you have these installed in multiple rooms, you need to buy additional magnets to open them, unless you don’t mind walking to a central location every time you need a cabinet doors open lol!

Installation: The company has put a lot of thought into making installation easy and include a tool to align the cabinet side and door side components. This makes installation quick and easy. 5 stars. If you need to use the screws I would drop my rating to 4 stars (it’s just more difficult). Be careful not to place it too close to the door pulls or knobs, it prevents the latch from returning to the locked position (always unlocked). Durability: I give this 2 out of 5 stars for durability. My 23 month old can yank hard enough to break the 2 sided tape (see my photo of detached latch. He did this within 5 days of them being installed). I had waited 24 hours for the tape to adhere before enabling the latch. I am a renter and I do not want to use the provided screws. Things that affect durability. If your cabinet doors have rubber dots that cause them to have a slight gap between the door and cabinet (see my photo) this means you need to have the cabinet side part stick out of the cabinet a bit to be able to latch at all. This reduces the area for the two sided tape to stick. If the backs of your cabinet doors have inset centers like mine (see photo) the door side latch component will likely over hang into the middle when properly placed. This reduces the area where the 2 sided tape sticks. Ease of use: You’re always going back and forth to grab the magent to open the cabinet. It’s frustrating. This will be true of all latches that require a magnet key to unlock. I bought these only because my son had figured out the crack the door open and press the button style latch. Those were really nice while they worked. What the manufacturer could do to make this product better: -Use a name brand 2 sided tape like 3M VHB. I think the adhesive quality is not good enough to handle some of the variation in installations (described above) -Find a way to make your product compatible with door dots. Your installation kit does not account for this offset and it’s really common in US houldholds. My home was built in 2017. -Warn users about placing latches near large pieces of metal. It’s frustrating when you adhere a latch in a spot that isn’t compatible and need to try and relocate it. Your kit only comes with 1 or 2 back up pieces of 2 sided tape in a kit of 16. No room for error.

I installed these on multiple cabinets throughout my house. Works perfectly and doesn't clutter up your space with child-safety items in plain sight.

Easy enough to install and works well! Has stayed locked when my toddler is pulling on the doors. We have it installed under our kitchen sink and the “key”/ magnet is on the window ledge above the sink. Works well for us. One comment and not a complaint, just something I didn’t think through - I was thinking of putting these in each bathroom and in the kitchen and possibly in the laundry room. But I would have to purchase more of the key magnets. It comes with a number of locks but not the key magnets of course so I just didn’t think that part through that I’m not going to run from one room to another grabbing the key when I need under the bathroom sink.

Does not work for IKEA cupboards in my home. I was sad because they are highly rated by others but ultimately this just wasn't a compatible style of lock for us because the "roof" of each cabinet is the bottom of the drawer above it. Also a side note that the company does do refunds but the return shipping is not included (not something I've encountered on Amazon before). From all of the online reviews I've read these are wonderful locks, just not for IKEA cabinets! Be certain these will work for you before ordering as you will have to pay to return :(
