The cat comes in a box . The cat that is inside the box is wrapped in a plastic bag. You must remove the plastic bag and put the battery in the battery compartment. Then the cat will breathe

Does this feel like a real cat would? My son is autistic and petting our cat calms him down, looking to buy something he can have at school.

Feels pretty real when you pet it while it is in its bed. If it is lifted from the bed it is heavy and hard (not soft like a cat). If the bed is tipped, the “cat” will fall out. So if you somehow secure the “cat” to the bed and just pet it, it will feel pretty real.

Has anyone else purchased this and noticed a horrid, chemical smell on the cat? i just got mine yesterday and was so disappointed because it reeks.

Yikes. There was no smell to the cat I got about 3 months ago. I would send it back!
