Valuable tool, works with GarageBand
Worked perfectly with MacBook and Mac to plug in a guitar directly into the Mac to use GarageBand. I wish it was a more discrete color choice like black or white, but it does the job without needing an audio interface. Worked with 2 of these to plug in two guitars as well, as my friend bought one to plug into my Mac

Works with IOS Peterson Stobosoft tuner
I went to the ipad air and usb c vs lightning connector. None of the Apple store 1/8 to usbc worked with the Strobosoft 1/4 to 1/8 connector. I found out later these are only for headphones. This JD connector works well and its direct 1/4 guitar in to usbc ipad. The Strosoft tuner works fine now. Ty!

Works on old iMac
First, the bad: 1. The inner diameter of the jack sleeve is a little too narrow. At least one set of plugs (which may likewise be a little too wide) is VERY difficult to get in and out. Others fit OK, but are a little snug. 2. This adapter appears on my old iMac (macOS Monterey) as “USB PnP Audio Device(EEPROM)” as both an input and output device. You have to be extra careful to watch that you don't let this adapter be used as an output (no damage, just silence). Check the Mac's Sound Preferences output. Check other tools' configuration too - GarageBand is quick to discover this device and use it as input and output. 3. On my iPhone 15 (iOS 18.6.2), there seems to be no way to select internal speakers over this adapter. Technically, you can record from the adapter, but to listen with internal speakers, you have to unplug. To claim that this adapter works with the iPhone's flaw seems too generous. The good: 1. My iMac has Thunderbolt 2 and USB A, but no USB C connectors. So, I just used a C-to-A adapter, and it worked just fine. 2. This device is quiet - does not introduce other noise/hiss/hum. 3. A good start for the Sound Preferences input volume is about 25%. Too high, and you'll get unwanted distortion/clipping. 4. No noticeable (appreciable) delay when directly connected, or through a USB hub. Other: Don't use BlueTooth audio output since that will guarantee latency.

It works!
It works! Using it with a flanger clip mic, Samsung Z-fold 6, and Spectroid

If you LOVE latency, this is for you.
Lol... It has a ridiculous, literal 1.5 second delay for latency. That said, for the project I'm using it for, I just record and manually drag the sound pattern up with the grid anyway, so not a deal breaker. If you need something quicker, just get a Scarlett. I didn't expect much for 12 bucks, but it works okay for what it's worth. DEFINITELY not for full studio use, or even a beginner. Absulutely not for guitar or bass. Jusr for, say, long synth pads or arpeggios you can drag to a grid. Update: Eh, my fault. My headphones were on Bluetooth instead of corded. That said, it cleared the latency up by about a half second. Bumping it up another star.

Works Perfectly!
I used the USB Type C to 1/4 TS Audio Recording Adapter to connect a Tuner Pick-Up to my phone and it works exactly as I had hoped.

Defective. Cables do not fit into the jack.
I could not get a cable to fit inside the audio jack. I tried several cables. None would fit. Even with a lot of force. It seems like there's a manufacturing error, that has rendered this product useless. Also the USB jack require extra force to put into my laptop. I hope I didn't get a virus by plugging this into my laptop as well. Cannot recommend.

MacBook M3 running Sequoia 15.6 here so I can’t speak for PC users. As a basic audio interface, there is a slight latency at 64 buffer (it doesn’t affect my playing, so it’s not much). It’s not going to be as good as a dedicated audio interface with high end preamps and HiZ functionality. However.. I wanted to plug in my guitar lead direct to my computer, as though the Mac had an easy 1/4” TS input, no boxes/extra cables/setup steps, this does it. And for me, who’s into unusual FX, post rock soundscapes, shimmer verbs and synth-fuzz it’s perfect. So, perhaps for the tone purists or fast players this is going to be unacceptable, but for me it works. I can sit in front of the Mac with just my guitar and listen through the laptop speakers, playing with crazy FX chains. Lovely!
