Best Cage for the BMPCC
It does the job in making the Pocket Cinema camera ergonomically pleasing. I’ve had my Bmpcc a while and used every other cinema camera for battery issues and this body issue. The Camtree cage has plenty options for mounting my battery solutions and external recorder. The best purchase and I am using it in my first feature film!

Not exactly what you think....
I had searched a bit around for cages and saw this. I had seen the one made by Tilta, I know sometimes manufactures will let other companies put their brand name on their product. So I figured it's the same thing right? Well I haven't seen reports that the Tilta cage will make your hands black like the Camtree cage :-( just handling it for 10 minutes you'll need to wash your hands and the paint for some reason doesn't easily come off your skin like it does with the cage :-( It is also rough around the edges. I had purchased a Ginirig Rex cage prior, but they don't have a baseplate that lines up with the lens if you were to place it on a tripod, I also felt the Ginirig rex cage was uncomfortable to hold in a heavy set-up.But the Camtree changed my mind. It's actually harder to maintain a grip on the camera. The wood parts have some slippery coating and in all, just harder to grip the camera. It does line up on the tripod nicely, but sliding it off and on its detachable plate is a chore. It does have enough room to open and access the battery and sd card. One main thing is to be careful when assembling, all the cages require to screw your camera from the top and the bottom. Then the handle when installed usually covers the top screw. So your camera will be stuck in the cage for the most part of your shoot day. That said you will have to assemble and disassemble the handle multiple times depending how you use your camera. Be sure to check you use the short Alan screws. If you use the long, you will mark your camera. There is a little plastic matt but it only covers one screw hole where the cage meets the camera of the handle screw not both. So if you accidentally use the wrong screw it will make contact with the camera leaving a circular scrape mark. If price is your governing factor and you don't care what happens to your camera this cage may be a perfect fit for you, but the thought of the paint coming off on my hands every time I use it, means it will also transfer to my lenses and camera as I touch and handle under normal operation.

Pretty much essential for any BMPCC owner.
For the money, this is the best bmpcc cage you can buy. I received mine a few days ago, and it's already proved its worth. I can easily mount an external battery, monitor, and a large lens (thanks to the rails). It looks very nice, and feels great to hold. I definitely appreciate the comfortable hand grip on the side and the handle on top. Right out of the box, the bmpcc has amazing value, but is severely lacking ergonomically. For $150, you can virtually solve all of those problems. Definitely worth it.

Perfect
Exactly what I needed, great quality and zero black residue. Thanks for everyone's previous reviews - the residue post had me worried but there was none on mine. Also the red logo was actually white, which I think is much more aesthetic.

Five Stars
Has been so super sturdy and snug on my bmpcc. No complaints exactly what I was looking for.

Love it! Solid, well-built, very premium feel.
This cage is awesome. It adds a fair amount of weight and bulk to the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, and thoroughly protects it. More importantly to me, it provides tons of mounting options to attach monitors, batteries, quick release plates, rails, matte boxes, and anything else I may want to put on this little camera. The cage is extremely solid and well-constructed. The kit came with a dozen or so extra screws and washers (all nicely made, not the hardware store variety) for attaching things to it. The little reversible screwdriver that came with the kit was a nice touch as well – it not sits in my pelican case for quick adjustments on set.One reviewer complained about a residue on the cage when it arrived. Mine had that as well. It's part of the machining process. I wiped it off. Problem solved.

Sweet.
I was unsure about ordering this cage for my Blackmagic pocket camera for 2 reasons, it ships from India(and I really didn't want to wait for it), and some of the reviews I read and watched online were generally good but some people questioned the quality of craftsmanship so I was a bit aprehensive about that. Before considering this cage from Camtree I had ordered the Fotodiox Sharkcage but it was taking forever to ship(and the price had dropped about $30 since my order) so I cancelled it out of frustration. I had noticed that this cage was being compared to the Tilta cage that it highly resembles but at half the price so I decided to go for it. I ordered it on a Saturday and it was delivered the following Thursday... that was pretty fast considering it came all the way from India, and I'm in Canada. I am a perfectionist and this thing is REALLY nice, all the aluminum bits are machined smooth, the black paint doesn't come off in your hand(like a reviewer had said), and the wood is a very nice high quality beautiful hardwood sanded buttery smooth with a satin clear finish (also not slippery as another reviewer had said), I am extremely pleased, it looks great and I already have it rigged out with a Tascam DR100 on the front coldshoe on the handle, an Aputure 7" field monitor with a flexible arm coming off the left top side, and a Battery solution mounted to the rails behind the camera. Also have my follow focus on the rails and a matte box, this thing can handle the weight no problem, and feels secure. A1 for this cage, I'm happy I went for it, no regrets!!!
