Contrary to other reviews, the hamster stabiliser does stay on our hamsters and they rarely flip over (tried it on at least 3 different ones). It is true that you have to press the button on the back of the hamster and quickly close the lid to the ball. But I haven't had any difficulty. Just have to be quick about it :-). I have 6 hamsters, 2 room house, runway, and ball. My kids play with these for about 15-30 minutes once or twice a day. I wish they would be entertained by them longer. And I wish the batteries lasted longer too!

This ball came with the Zh Zhu Pet City at Christmas. I was concerned after reading previous reviews, however we have found the ball clips together & stays together well. It is a little tricky for my 5 yr old to open & close it so an adult is needed. Without the stabiliser the hamster just falls over, however if the blue plastic stabiliser is attached to the hamster it moves around for ages without falling over...our only problem is that some hamsters fall asleep very quickly in the ball & keep needing to be woken up!Its a useful bit of kit if you have a carpet as the hamsters can move around the room...without the ball our hamsters only move inside the Pet City due to carpets.

My 7 yr old daughter had this along with lots of other zhu zhu hamster accessories for her birthday. The other things are all quite good and work well, but with this ball the hamster falls over onto its side after a couple of seconds and you have to open the lid again to sort it out. Not impressed with this one.

This toy is not fit for purpose and I will be taking it back for a refund. The balls don't stay together and even when it does the hamster keeps getting stuck and can't move it. I've read the instructions and have followed all the steps but it literally doesn't even work for a minute.Very cross and frustrated with two disappointed little boys.

Bought this for our 6 year old daughter who wanted it to go with other Zhu Zhu items. The annoying thing with this is that it keeps falling apart - the ball is made up of 2 halves that clip together but don't stay clipped! They keep coming undone when the hamster moves in it. It is also quite tricky to put together, as my daughter has to rely on adults to do it for her. She has given up on it now.....waste of time!
