Quality!
This is a smaller version of the classic Chinese ring knife. The bench made is very well-crafted! Having a training blade is a big plus. I enjoy carrying this knife. Just a small ring shows above one’s belt when the knife is inside the waistband. It instantly comes into action. I still carry a pocket folder for my offhand. The training blade is a big plus. It goes along way towards Blade manipulation so that one can become familiar with how to use a ring knife. No chance of nicks and cuts.

Great knife if you understand its intended design.
When considering this dagger, one must understant the niche it was designed for. Self-defense, pure an simple. This is not an everyday use knife. The construction of the dagger is solid but the design itself would make general utility difficult. However, what it lacks in utility it more than makes up for in its designed function. It is sleek, easily manipulated, easily concealed, and when held properly limits the possibility of losing grip. The items I do not like about the knife are realitively easy to fix. I believe that the blade should be sharpened further up the blade and not just at the point. Also, the clip on mine is so tight it is difficult to attach to my pants easily. However, these are small complaints. Exactly what I was looking for and definitely could be a game changer if the need ever arises to need it. Great little knife. My first from Benchmade.

Easy to carry and access.
I really like the weight and feel. Comfortable carry and just the right amount of tension when accessing.

Overpriced and dull
Came dull. I know I know: it’s not a cutting blade, it’s for puncture. Still. It’s expensive, and you can’t easily sharpen this metal. Still, I like it in the socp sling from Vertx; but it is sloppy fit.

SOCP, brilliance in basics!
The SOCP is a well thought out, mission specific defensive/offensive tool for any military/law enforcement officer/civilian that goes in harms way. The ability to conceal the SOCP on your person, clothing, or operational equipment gives versatility and unlimited deployment options. The best defense tool is always the one thats easiest to use/get to, that you will carry, and that is least susceptable to mechanical malfunction, the SOCP meets all of those requirements. Add to the aforementioned the ability to access and operate your primary weapon system while retaining the SOCP allows for a seamless transition to alternate defensive measures should your primary fail/ run dry, or your adversary gains the upper hand. I recommend the SOCP without reservation due to simplicity, versatility, and quality of manufacture.

Tactical Butter Knife
This is a prime example of a good but overpriced knife design with some flaws both major and minor. For over a buck twenty you shouldn't have to do anything to it but put it on. Benchmade boasts that their blades come razor sharp, well not this one. The dual edge stiletto style blade is a full 3 inches long, but the (barely sharp) edge ENDS an inch & a quarter from the tip. So; the first thing you'll need to do is put a decent fighting edge on the entire length of the blade because out of the box this is a tactical butter knife!Next get out your torx driver set and remove that totally useless belt clip. I tried it on belt, boot & inside vest pocket and every time I drew the knife to deploy it, the scabbard came with it every single time. Next get out your carving knife because you will probably want to remove that annoying 'quarter moon' shaped plastic riser that prevents your finger from getting an instant & secure grip on the ring. The only function I can see for that part of the scabbard is to mess up your acquisition of the ring when the adrenalin is flowing; so do yourself a favor and just remove it. Five minutes with a sharp blade will remedy the problem, and a few strokes of sandpaper will make it look and feel the way it was supposed to in the beginning.Having sharpened the entire edge; removed the worthless belt clip, & excess plastic, the next step is to break out the paracord & rig this as a neck knife. I say break out the paracord because the diminutive 24 inch piece of paracord that comes with the knife is simply way too short, it simply is not sufficient length. Rookie mistake. Besides, when you do it yourself the fit is perfect, I suggest you begin with three and a half to four feet of paracord to be sure you get it right the first time. The reason I mention these alterations is because I do like this knife somewhat for use as an emergency backup blade; and it's worth customizing it to suit your needs. With a proper edge on it this would make a good hide-out blade that might even do well as a thrower, although I haven't tried that yet. The price is a bit on the high end side because there just ain't $130.00 bucks worth of steel here, even with the practice knife. Maybe Benchmark sub-contracted this one to another party. That might explain two price tags and the lapse in quality. With my other Benchmade knives you can see the quality you're paying for; with this one it feels more like I'm paying for the brand name and not the quality. If you are willing to pay this kind of money for a professional neck knife, consider going ten bucks more for something like the TRS Talon: TRS Talon Karambit with Kydex Sheath and 40 in of Para-cord

Great blade! easy to conceal, sharp!
Great little unit, I read the other reviews that said the blade was not edged fully, or that the belt clip was weak. On the product I received none of these are true. The blade is edged the full length of the blade, and the retention for the belt clip is great. No problems with this knife at all. The trainer is awesome as well.I carry mine on the inside of my jeans everywhere.
