SalewaApproach Gaiter

Having searched for some time for a short ankle gaiter like this, these looked pretty good. Once they had arrived and I tried them on, it was clear that the rubber tension strap that goes under your shoes/boots is way too short and not adjustable. I can't see how this works on any but the smallest footwear. So I cut the straps off and bingo! A much more versatile gaiter that easily works with walking shoes or boots. The clip at the front that attaches to the laces and the elasticated band at the back provide enough tension to keep the gaiters in place. So three stars as supplied, five stars once modified. Salewa take note!

I'm size 7.5 UK and they seem to be a bit small on my trail running shoes. It just doesn't look the same as advertised. They clearly need to make different sizes.I've had these for some time now and they do a decent job. In really muddy places and extreme weather on the mountains they are frankly useless. Your feet will get wet. Probably because they are not tight enough around the shoe. Also the strap is taking a beating... But still going.Overall happy with performance for general use.

I need them for running in bad condition and they fit my running shoes tight so it might be a problem with bigger thicker walking boot .I'm uk 8 and they are just right

Love these. I can see that if you wanted them for hiking boots they might not fit, but over my size 6 trail Nikes they fit really well and do the job of keeping feet dry. Think they would fit slightly bigger than that and recommend!

I think these have replaced the Salewa Alpine speed stretch gaiter, which I currently use. I received the Approach gaiter and they looked similar and OK, so I cut out the label and put them ready to use. When I tried to use them I found that the under foot strap was shorter, so the gaiter had to be pulled lower down on the boot, where the circumference is greater. When I tried to pull them together to pull up the zip, the pattern stitching failed. Probably OK with smaller feet. say size 6 - 9, but no good with my size 11. I was left with something I could not return.

Used to keep grain out of boots, might have fitted training shoes

I've just spent 4 days backpacking on wet trails and the Salewa Approach Gaiters have been great. Easy to fit, strong material, generally well-made. The 'fixed' underfoot strap would be better if it was adjustable but over a lightweight or mid boot or a shoe the fit is snug and fine for me (UK 9). Highly recommend these gaiters.

Super bei Touren in niedrigen Schuhen wenn noch/schon Schnee liegt.Passen bei Schuhgröße 42 perfekt und schön stramm. Bei größeren wird die Einheitsgröße wohl zu klein sein.

Prodotto veramente ottimo.Le ho indossate in diverse escursioni sulla neve abbinate alle scarpe da trekking basse, e hanno sempre tenuto perfettamente anche con la neve fino al ginocchio, quindi impermeabilità ottima. L'elastico nella parte alta non stringe e non da fastidio, ma allo stesso tempo non fa entrare neanche una briciola di neve

Material de alta calidad, muy ligero, ideal para senderismo rápido, no entra nada de nieve, siempre que no te llegue hasta la rodilla... Para ese caso comprar polaina más alta. En foto está con bota semirrígida salewa del 43.

Très bon produit, solide et bien conçu. Convient probablement mieux au chaussures basses que montantes (car assez étroites au niveau de la cheville et de la tige de chaussure. Attention, il faut une semelle avec un talon apparent et marqué de sorte de pouvoir bloquer le sous-pied et empêcher qu'il s'use rapidement au contact du sol et des pierres.

Ja, die Gamaschen sind tatsächlich etwas klein. Passen aber perfekt auf meine Salomon Speedcross 6 in Schuhgröße 42,5.Material, Geometrie, Zeit zum An/Ablegen, Wasserdichtheit, etc. sind TOP!
