Pearl Mantels 490-60-70 Lindon Wood Fireplace Mantel Shelf, 60", Distressed Cherry Finish

The concept of "French cleat" is the key point of this mantel. As long as you have a straight wall and the piece that you install on the wall properly cut and sized which was the case for the piece I have received, all goes very smoothly. The stain, lacquer finish of the mantel was excellent. There were no flaws what so ever.On the downside, I couldn't care less about the mother of pearl inset. Looks like a blemish, serving to no purpose. The whole thing is solid southeast Asian wood from Vietnam, probably gumwood.Also, the color of the finish was lacking the hint of red which is necessary for the cherry finish.Overall, I would buy it again and recommend it.

Purchased 2 units and using them as shelves in my study. I was impressed in the appearance and finish, a bonus it matched our desk and bookshelf finish. The mounting system provides a very stable support of the mantel / shelf . Note: The install does require you to drill holes in the support board, just make sure and locate the hole/screws at studs. Just a FYI, the 3/4 material is particle board with a veneer. I drilled some holes for grommets and the material appears to be closer to pressed paper vs lumber. Finally, one of the units arrived with a special guest, a good side spider had hitched a ride from Vietnam, the country where the units are manufactured.

Very nice except for the pearl. It's hardly noticeable, but the pearl just looks like a random white ball stuck in the wood

My wife has wanted a mantel for years but always wanted one with a full wood surround which I did not think would work with the floor to ceiling brick. When I showed her the picture of this one she fell in love with it and it has not disappointed. It looks absolutely perfect above the fireplace and is truly a beautiful piece of furniture. The angled corners were what first got my attention as a safety feature but add to the attractiveness of this design. Everyone who sees it loves it. I call it my wife's new toy as she is having fun playing with finding just the right decorations to put on it.

It was well crafted and super easy to install. I think it is beautiful and especially for the price. I could do without their peqrl insert honestly but did not take away from the beauty, just didnt feel it added anythibg either.

This Mantel is beautiful and was easy to install onto my brick fireplace (anchored into the mortar). It did, however, arrive with a warped mounting board.I contacted the manufacturer in TN (found their number via their website [...].) They sent me a replacement within a business week. Glad to see a company stand by their product. Quality product overall.
