Must have for Maggot Guitarists
Like all official books in this genre, there are always a few mistakes. The wrong note here, wrong time sig there etc. That's just the way it goes. I own all the Slipknot recorded guitar versions now and would say that this is the most accurate of all of them. The only 'mistake' is the tuning for the song 'Dead Memories'. I've seen live videos of the Knot playing it aswell as guest lessons by Jim Root and know it's in drop B (in this book it's in B standard) Obviously this isn't a mistake as such but if your like me when you buy these books, you want to play the songs the way the band does. (Plus the B standard way is harder to play)All the album is in either drop A or drop B (which is no different from any of their work apart from a few songs in Vol 3) so if your not a fan of low tunings I would recommend another book. The songs on this album are great for working on your chops esp in terms of rhythmic playing (this is fantastic for right hand workouts) and contain more great lead work from Mick and Jim.This does not contain any of the bonus tracks featured on the CD and stops at 'All Hope is Gone'.At the end of the day, with something as hard to tab out by ear as Slipknot is, buying this book will save you alot of time and bother and provide hours and fun and frustration from start to finish.

"note-for-note" is a complete shamble and lie...
I was very excited to view this product and being a huge Slipknot fan (and Mick Thomson fan)... I was a bit upset to see the first song (excluding the album intro) was wrong on the first note...Mick Thomson (guitar #2) clearly doesn't start on the 3rd fret 2nd string... at the start of Gematria as you can clearly see on the Youtube video where he is recording his part for the album All Hope Is Gone (on the Rivera channel who Mick has a signature amp and recorded with for the album) (which also was the same take used in the final production of the song) where it goes (2-3-2-3, 1-2-1-2, 0-1-0)I don't have much faith in the rest of the transcribed tabs being "note-for-note" in terms of played on the fretboard, sure the sheet music is "correct" but almost like you've just dialed in the notes and got the software to automatically generate the guitar tab :(

It's pretty kickass.
It's exactly what I was looking for.

Abgefahrene Stimmung ;-)

Accurate and Evil
This is a masterpiece from the 9, and this is the framework to recreate the evil tones from this album.

Inaccuracies?
The tabs for how to play "Dead Memories" are not at all how James Root shows in his Youtube video. Both the tuning and fingering are different. It does not inspire confidence in me to learn any fingering from this book. Granted Tab books are only one guys interpretation of one way to play it but I like the fingering and at least the tuning to be as much like the original artist as possible. You can certainly learn it the way it is in the book if you want. I don't want to.
