Nice drone for the $$
Not a bad drone considering the cost. Nice steady flyer that hovers steady. It also connects to satellites extremely fast.... sometimes before I finish the compass and gyro calibrations. There is only 1 negative thing I can say about it....the motors are a bit loud....but definitely not a deal breaker.

Great for newbies!
I'm new to using drones but my nephews have used them for a few years now. Thought I'd give this one a try to see how I enjoy it. So far, so good! It's pretty easy to use, get started and figure things out as I go along. The hardest part is learning how to lift off, fly smooth and land easily. After a few tries, it's going well! The images come out really well as does the video feed. I'd totally recommend this as a gift for any new users!

Perfect for Intermediates and Advanced Beginners - Capable Enough to Do More Than You Expect!
This is a really surprising drone! I was expecting it to be somewhat cheaply made, with buzzy engines, and a low quality camera. I was wrong on all counts! This thing is awesome!First off, it's from a brand I already trust. I've owned a few drones from TOMZON over the years, and they've always been surprisingly good, especially for the price. I have no idea, however, how they were able to get this many features into a drone in this price category. Everything they say it can do, it can do.I was impressed with the range from the drone to my smartphone. I was really skeptical that they would be able to maintain a good video signal, especially as the drone got higher in the air. I was very nervous about it flying away without me being able to bring it back to Earth. But, it stayed connected, and continued to feed extremely high quality photos and video to the built-in SD card. This is much more of a camera drone than a sport drone, so the fun with it is it's stability, not necessarily that it's a lot of fun to fly. The priority here is on stability and ease of use for the camera. For that, it's really terrific. I needed to get a good view of the top of our house, for instance, after we had some storm damage. I was able to get up high to see not only how my house looked, but to also survey the neighbors as well. The images were crystal clear, and we're not grainy or distorted at all. The video, likewise, had surprisingly decent frame rate, with reasonably good motion as well. The motion was not overly blurry, even when changing directions quickly. There is still a lot I need to learn, as I'm coming more from the sport drone side. I enjoy flying these and maneuvering them, but this has helped me slow down, and focus on getting good images. I'm genuinely stunned by the features, build quality, and value of this drone. It would make an amazing Christmas gift!

Updated review: Received replacement unit from seller and working great
Updated review:I was contacted by the seller after they saw that I was unable to get the drone to sync and fly. I received a replacement unit and I still had some issues and I relayed my concerns to the seller. They responded to my emails and suggested I try some things to fix the connection issues. The first thing they suggested was to disable the cellular connection on my phone and then connect to the WiFi from the drone. That didn't work and I thought there must be something else wrong I tried to use airplane mode on my phone and that still didn't work.Long story short I have a new iPhone 14 pro and I never could get it to properly connect to either drone even with cellular turned off and airplane mode enabled. I took out my older iPhone 12, installed their flycam software and disabled cellular data on my phone and it connected right away. I setup both phones the same, but the 14 pro doesn't seem to want to connect with the drone when it knows there is no internet connectivity. I can't fault the seller for the problem with my iPhone as I don't have another iPhone 14 pro to test so I can't say if it with the latest iPhone or it's something else.I can say that the seller was very accommodating and they really wanted to help me with resolving the issues I was having with their product. They were always quick to respond to my communications and asked if I wanted to send videos to help troubleshoot the issue. They were very responsive and wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied with the product. I gave them five stars because they were helpful and responsive and they stand behind the product 100 percent.Below is my original review:I downloaded the app to my iPhone 14 pro and my son used his Google Pixel 7 phone and neither one of us was able to sync the drone to either phone. Trying to perform the GPS calibration with the remote control since it wouldn't connect with the phones properly the GPS calibration never finished. I tried in at a park near the house where there was no trees or building in the field and it had weak GPS signal?? Both of our phones had great GPS signal but this drone didn't.On the second outing to try the drone we went to a large soccer field near the top of the hills at 5500 foot elevation still no GPS signal. I suspect the drone is faulty as we tried for over an hour with no luck.

TERRIBLE DO NOT BUY!!!!!!
This drone is a piece of crap. It powers on and looks like a drone but that’s where it ends. No matter what I try to do this drone will not connect to my phone or my wife’s. Run as far from this piece of junk as you can and buy another drone. This was a gift from my wife and I was excited to use it. Thanks for nothing TOMZON. I will never buy another product from you and will make sure as many people as I know don’t either.

Excellent package combo. Cannot really fly good in windy conditions. But fun to fly.
- First thing you need to know is that this is a rebrand of the Potensic P5G drone. In fact, after registering for the Fly Cam app, I actually received an email from Potensic. So Tomzon and Potensic basically mean the same thing.- Let’s go over some of the things I like about this drone package: The whole package comes in a nice bag that holds everything together: the drone, remote controller, 2 batteries, extra propellers and propeller guards (which I recommend to put on if you are a first timer). The bag looks nice on the outside too.- The 2nd thing I like about this camera is the weight: It’s only 238 grams with battery! That means you can fly this thing in Canada without the need to Register your drone and you don’t need to get a drone pilot certificate because it’s under 250 grams. It’s considered a microdrone as defined by Transport Canada. Of course you need to still keep other safety guidelines that apply to all drones such as avoiding advertised events, avoiding airports, ceiling limits, etc.- At your first flight, you need to calibrate the drone. Just watch some videos on Youtube about Potensic drones to see how it works. It’s fairly simple to do. Just turn the drone 2 full 360 degree turns, then point it down and turn it sideway another 2 turns. For some reason, I had trouble doing that as I turned the drone and it didn’t allow me to go to the next step. Took me around 10 minutes to complete the calibration when it should take like 10 seconds. Not sure what I did wrong because the problem didn’t occur again.- There are 2 fly modes, GPS and non GPS. I suggest flying with GPS mode as that is how you can access Return to Home and other functions. The drone needs to connect a minimum number of GPS satellites connected in order for it to work. And so in the app, it will show a message letting you know that you can’t fly yet and that’s because it doesn’t connect to enough satellites yet. Just wait a minute or 2 and it should be ready.- Flying is super fun. Easy to control. However, you cannot fly this drone in windy conditions at all. Very hard to control the drone in windy conditions. On a day I measure the wind speed at ground level to be about 11-12 km/hr which means it’s higher gust up and flying the drone up just a few meters higher (about 2 story high) and the wind drifts the drone further and further. I thought I almost lost the drone because Return to Home doesn’t work as it tries to fight with the wind to get back to the original location to land. And so this drone must fly in a very calm condition. I couldn’t find any info about wind resistant capability of this drone and so from my test, I think it’s minimal.- The camera is ok. I like that you can remotely control the camera’s angle by moving the right scroll wheel on the remote. This will move the camera’s position 90 degrees straight down. Footage from the memory card (micro sd type) looks good but the camera angle is very crooked and I don’t know if there is a way to adjust them. By crooked I mean the horizon is slanted very much. The camera does not Image Stabilization, but it has spring abosorbtion shocks between the camera housing and the drone body. But still it shakes during flights.- Overall this is a nicely put together package for beginner drone flying. But the drone that any drone trying to beat for the “under 250 gr” category would be the DJI Mavic mini series. And the drone that came to my mind is the Mini SE that sells for just a little bit more than this drone with better camera quality as well as wind resistance. The only problem is the MiniSE is slowly being discontinued here in Canada and it’s hard to find a Canadian retailer selling what’s left of their inventory. This is a nice drone to fly as a beginner for fun.

Looking for your first drone? This may be a good place to start
Every day, it seems like some new company releases a drone, adding to the thousands already out there. The variety of drones can be pretty overwhelming, as well as the price, making it really hard to choose. I've owned my fair share of drones, so hopefully, I can shed some light on whether this one is worth your hard-earned dollars.QUALITY:Most people judge a product by its look and feel, as well as how well it is built. Generally, that's a fairly accurate way to determine how decent a product is going to be. However, this drone is one of those products that breaks that barrier. When I first opened this drone and took it out, it felt cheap. The controller was nothing to write home about, and the drone itself just seemed like one crash would break it into a bunch of pieces. However, once I flew the drone, I quickly realized it was better than I originally thought.FEATURES:This drone comes with pretty much the standard set of features that most drones offer: a high-resolution camera, GPS positioning, one-press return, and various recording options like follow and circle. The main difference at this price point is that these features actually seem to work. I've used drones that claim to have a one-touch return, but the drone comes back and lands 15 feet away from where it took off, which can get messy and dangerous. This one, on the other hand, was well within the 1-2 feet range.FLIGHT:As I mentioned, my initial take on this drone was not the best, but it performed really quite well, and I was a bit surprised by it. It responds quickly to the controls and is fairly easy to fly. It did struggle slightly with hovering in place at higher altitudes, and wind definitely caused it to wander. However, once again, for this price point, I felt it did really well.APP:Perhaps it was just me, but I had to try multiple times to get the drone to connect with the app. For some reason, it just didn't want to, and I was close to giving up when I suddenly got it to connect. I've had no issues since, so I'm not sure what the problem was.The app itself is pretty solid and easy enough to use. Using the app allows you to control the drone more effectively and unlocks a lot of the features.CAMERA:This is where this drone performs really well, and perhaps they sacrificed on the body to have a better camera. I was very happy with the quality of pictures and videos the drone took, and for once, an entry-level drone claiming 4k may actually be 4k or close enough, anyway.CONCLUSION:Overall, I found this drone to perform pretty well. It has all the features you would want, with a really clear camera that takes great photos. There were a few areas that could be improved, like the build quality of the drone and the instructions. But for someone looking to get into flying a drone without wanting to spend a fortune, this is a great place to start.WHAT I LIKED:Performs well and easy to flyNice camera with clear qualityHas a bunch of features that work wellWHAT I DIDN'T LIKEThe quality of the drone itself felt cheapInstructions are a bit unclearHad issues connecting to the drone with the appInitial app settings drastically cut down the performance of the drone. So if you are experienced, you can definitely adjust those.

Awesome drone for the beginner/casual flyer, not quite "professional" level
I got this drone to help record our local car shows and also when we bring the monster RC cars out its nice to record them.PROS:- Out of the box, this thing is nicely put together with what feels like quality materials. It even comes with a nice little carrying bag that the drone can be put into for easy portability.- It has little propeller guards to eliminate the damage caused when you accidentally fly into things, it also comes with 4 spare propellers incase you do end up breaking them.- With one button, it'll take off from the ground and hover a few feet off the ground, and when you're a few feet off the ground you can click the same button and it'll land for you, so great for beginners as thats where the drones tend to crash and break is take off and landing.- It has wicked distance, hard to measure the 985ft but i sent it as far over this green space as i could and it let me know i was going too far and it would self adjust to come back into range, so in a sense its "fool proof", it also lets you know when you're low on battery so you have enough time to bring it back.- I connected it to a phone and the quality of the video is good, however there is 1 flaw that ive noticed with video recording and i noted it in the cons.- The flight time was around 30 minutes which isnt too bad, but it requires you to fly back every 15 minutes to change them, and not that this thing flies far, but even a 20 minute flight time per battery would have been better.- It has 3 speeds and even the fastest one isnt that "fast", its much more of a beginner/hobbyist drone than it is a professional drone.CONS:- The camera doesn't seem to have a gyro or anyway to eliminate the vibrations that it experiences via the wind or when from its own propellers as it does have some vibration to it.- NOT USER FRIENDLY OUT OF THE BOX, my goodness, figuring out how to get this thing going, recording video and flying it was not easy to do. Unless you're familiar with drones, dont expect to just take it out of the package, charge it and fly it around, it does have a learning curve and IS NOT FOR KIDS.- I liked being able to simple hold the controller and the drone will follow you, or if you have something in the middle like a vehicle, it can circle the vehicle if you set it up and adjust the circle diameter.IS IT WORTH YOUR MONEY?At time of this review the cost is $259, and yes, for a budget drone its great, its relatively stable in the air but its a very strong learning curve to use it in the beginning.

Good controls, good camera, powerful Flight, good batteries.
This is regarding the TOMZON P5G Drones with Camera for Adults 4K, FPV GPS Camera Drone 5G WiFi Transmission for Beginner, Auto Return Home, Follow Me, Custom Flight Path, Under 249g, 36 Mins Long Flight with Carrying Bag.A micro SD card is a must for recording anything. The advantage to this approach is that it has no signal interruption that you can have through your phone at the edge of it range. Video quality looks around 2k and photos look like 4k quality. It very reasonable for producing amiture video content for a blog.It is difficult for me to attach my phone to the remote on account of the thickness of my phones case. If it were designed for but one millimeter larger a device I would have no issues. You can fly the drone with just your phone but I can only find a way to calibrate it with the remote. My first flight was with wind speeds of around 10 kph which I find to be it's upper limit. Choppy as this my be, I've had a few other drones in this price range that can barely take off for a few seconds as they lose too much altitude trying to compensate for the wind. At this wind speed altitude was +/- 6 feet and horizontally +/- 15 feet. I was surprised when I ascended above the tree/house hight as usually the winds toss a drone into a random back yard but this drone has enough power to fight it.The auto return function does work; however, it tends to circle a large radius as it lands. It seems to need at least 20+ feet of cleared area to land itself. You can still use the controls to assist it from hitting things, but it is a little tricky. The batteries take a long time to charge, which is normal for a drone. They do lastp a long time in Flight and would probably run for 20 to 30 minutes depending on weather conditions. The carring case makes a bigger difference then most would expect. It makes it convenient to bring a drone along just in case which greatly improves the odds for its use. This is an excellent purchase at this price point.
