Altra Trail Gaiter Protective Shoe Covers

So far, they are working great. I wear a size 10 (mens US) shoe, ankle is 9" (22.5 cm) and the large fits fine. Have to be gentle pulling them over the heel as I have a high instep, but doesn't seem to over stretch the gaiter. I'm in the very sandy/gravely southwest desert and with these gaiters on nothing is getting in my shoes, so as to their main purpose, working great. Prior to purchasing these I wouldn't get 1/4 mile without something in the shoes. I'm wearing them with a pair of New Balance 481V3 trail runners, so I used some E6000 adhesive and glued a square of velcro on each heel. Worked just fine.

These things are awesome. I have the altra lone peak 3.5 trail runners which have anchor points that line up perfectly with this pair. Both together wiegh just at one ounce so you can’t even feel them. Will defiantly be using these during a good portion of my pacific crest trail thru hike in 2019!

I use these gaiters with Altra Timp shoes while backpacking. I backpack in the Sierra Nevadas where you are constantly on decomposed granite. DG is really sharp and can tear up your feet really quickly. Using these gaiters, I never get anything other than fine dust in my shoes. Others in my groups dump out DG at the end of the trail, but not me!I would buy these again in a heartbeat!

I bought these for my Altra superior 2.0s. I have been trail running in them at least once a week for a couple months. They are definitely good at keeping sand, rocks, mud, etc out of your shoes. And you can't even feel them after your start. My only complaint is the size is a little weird. I can barely stretch them to fit over my ankles, so they seem small. But then if I try to sprint the front hooks always let go of my laces like they are too big.

The quality of these gaiters is good. They fit the Altra shoes perfectly. I could have fit mediums to have a tighter fit around my ankles, but the large doesn't actually slide down or have major gaps for dirt and sand when mostly dry. They are just a little loose, so water or mud may defeat the seal of the gaiters on your ankles.

The bottom of the gaiter is very close to the top of the shoe, and not very snug, so it doesn't protect well. I'm a shoe size 11.5 mens, wearing size L gaiter.

Excellent complement to Altra trail shoes and others with the velcro gaiter attachment. These will not fit shoes that do not use the velcro attachment at the heel.

Worked as expected except the hook in front came off the shoe lace a few times during the 50k I ran. That was kind of annoying.
