A Potentially Good Book Marred by Exaggeration
This could be a very good book except that the author overstates many of her “facts.” (Perhaps I should say "alternate facts.") Here’s just one example: On page 13 she writes that “Soldiers and crusaders have always been taught that the enemy consists of people who lack the true faith, and so deserve to be massacred.” Really? Always? I was on Air Force active duty for 30 years and this is the first time I’ve heard such a thing. It’s complete nonsense.Perhaps the author didn’t really mean modern U.S. forces, but if that’s the case, why did she write her sentence in such a way? The author is either a poor writer or ignorant, or both. How can I trust anything else she writes to be true?Oh by the way, I’m a nonbeliever, so I’m not criticizing the author’s main points. But the devil’s in the details and she clearly has no command of details.

Knock your Socks off
Exploding the myths knocks your socks off. Walker uncovers the origin of some practices that begin for a whole different reason - eating Fish on Friday, for one example that is astounding. A must read for anyone who cares about equality for women.

Lots of knowledge in this book . A bit tedious at time . The kind of book you need to read and re-read to fully appreciate. Not for the casual reader.

Excellent book; well researched
Excellent book; well researched, well written but a bit tedious as points one made are repeated and then repeated once more. At times it seems she ran out of material. Still, buy and read this book as it is well worth it.

Seek the truth and IT WILL SET YOU FREE!
One of the easiest fun reads that makes everything so clear and tells why they are the way they are, eh?Barbara Walker has a way with helping me understand and live with a clear mind.

What Ms Walker has to say is important.
This book seemed to be a compilation of Ms Walkers essays so you will find some of her ideas are repeated but in different contexts. This was not a problem for me as what she has to say is important and can bare repeating. I gave this book to my daughter to read.
