Great product.This is a simple and pretty low cost way to deliver front suspension for a gravel bike.Even riding it on the road makes a noticeable difference to comfort - would be a great extra for an audax.Little bit of extra weight but a worthwhile exchange for the comfort.I combined with the redshift seatpost and can’t imagine not having both of them off road now.Beautiful engineering.

Excellent product though a little expensive. I have a straight bar road bike which felt all the bumps this little device has helped and smoothed out my ride.

I feel this is a must-have upgrade for British road riding as I had noticed an immediate reduction in road buzz after installing the Redshift ShockStop Stem, greatly improving my long-distance fatigue levels. In my opinion, it should be considered a priority for your bike upgrade decisions.Not tried it off-road or on gravel yet as I don't have that type of bike, but having read reviews from others that have used it on these types of surfaces I made my decision to try it out.It was a straight swap for my original Giant Connect stem, and easy to install. I chose the elastomer combination as recommended in the instructions based on my body weight which sits right in the middle of the weight range for my chosen elastomers. I am aware these will soften slightly as they bed-in. So may need to review my elastomer combination at a later date.

Well made and does reduce the vibration on rough roads but is expensive for what it is. I’ve set mine up using the softest elastomers to give the most comfortable ride, I found that following the recommend setup for my weight and the type of bike gave very little movement in the stem.

The ShockStop stem gives a subtle damping that absorbs high frequency buzz and shocks, giving a refined and smooth feel. It isn't really a suspension and you'll still feel impacts, but you'll only feel them in your hands and not your arms/shoulders/neck like you can get with high pressure narrow road bike tyres. I'd say the effect is comparable to bigger lower pressure tyres, without the drag. I have mine set up relatively firm (it comes with a set of interchangeable elastomers to change the resistance), and I don't notice any bouncing – actually I can't consciously feel it moving at all. Overall a nice improvement to comfort on a road bike, provided you aren't expecting full on suspension. Does seem a little expensive for what it is.

After being jarred senseless riding my gravel bike on some very rough off highway tracks , I was recommended this stem by another rider.It’s absolutely amazing, really takes the buzz and big shocks out the really rocky tracks.One local really rocky descent is now an exciting pleasure, rather than a bone splintering disaster 👏👏👏👏

My 2nd redshift stem have owned an 80mm,but needed the 100mm since changing frames. These are brilliant setup correctly, you only notice them moving slightly & just when needed.They soak up the sting & bigger hits,thatd previously knock you off your line.I suffer aches & early fatigue without,some form of shock absorber. Combined with gel pads under soft bar tape,these stems just finish a bike off delivering a comfy ride.

Works great but at this price point you might as well buy suspension fork and ramp up the tension so that there is minimal speed loss. The fork suspension travel would deal with minor and major bumps whereas this will only iron out minor bumps.
