Problem Resolved - Defective batteries
REVIEW CHANGED FROM 1 STAR to 5 STAR Item works perfectly as advertised after replacing batteries. The batteries were were defective and too small so they popped out of the tray. That was the entire problem all along. That is why nothing worked. The batteries were 1-2 mm smaller. So this was defective batteries the manufacturer was getting rid of. If you have the same problem just replace the batteries and everything will work. It's a great item and does exactly as advertised. I use this with a real camera system and it looks great at night. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Electrical manufacturing defect. Battery tray defect. No circuit connection OR Defective night sensor. The unit is defective. It does not work in "minutes" as advertised. You must remove the back cover held by a screw to install the 2 batteries. The batteries immediately pop out - because the tray and connectors are defective. The batteries do not stay put with the cover on. There is no way to make the batteries stay in the tray. You could add glue on the batteries. But there is no anchor. And even when the batteries are held in with the unit there is no electrical connection. No red light. No green light. The only reason I purchased this is because there is a green night light on the keypad! I tried contacting the seller and there is no reply. I expect a replacement or refund to be issued immediately.

Good Fake Security
I did have an issue, as other reviewers have had, with the supplied batteries being pretty useless. Might be old stock or just cheap. Otherwise this has been a clever little keypad we put on our RV door. I used some heavy duty hook and loop fastener to let me take it off easily for storage. I have had this on the outside of the RV door for about 2 months, in all kinds of weather and it is still going strong. The little red light blinks when you approach it in daylight and the green keypad is lit at night, all the time. I wish the full keypad light would react to motion and turn off after a minute or two to save battery but they haven't run down yet and all is well so far. Overall it gives a little extra feeling of security and perhaps it will deter curious people. We are happy with it.

Very stealth.
Nice. Looks great on my attic door safe. Love the glow in the dark keypad and the blinking light during the day light.

Great but better with a redesign
This thing is great but in my opinion they need to make it so you it just has the slowly blinking red led. It does not need the full lit keypad. The keypad being lit drains the battery. Batteries would last a long time if it only powered the red led. Or make it so the keypad lights up only after a key is pushed.

Arrived defective or damaged
When I took this item out of the box and put a battery in it, it did not make any noise or light up when the keys were depressed, so it is either defective or was broken in transport. It is too inexpensive to go though the hassle of getting it to a ups store for replacement and still looks like what it is so I mounted it on my shop as a deterrent to would be burgarlers.

Surprisingly well built, & exceeded my expectations!
Hey this is a nice keypad! I'm not using it as intended, I just wanted it for a low power LED flasher circuit 4 a project I'm working on. I was expecting a cheap china piece of crap, but I was surprised! I almost feel bad chopping it up for parts! I'm gonna get a few more, & stick them on all of my doors & use them as intended as a fake entry keypads. It is well built, & the instructions were actually in English! It actually came with the batteries & the light up keypad triggers perfectly @ dark. I can't say how long it will light the keypad light up @ night for on a set of batteries, until I test it, but it might be days/months? If you need this for a fake keypad, or for parts, I'd say its worth it, for shure! They had one of thease @ Harbor freight, but they dont stock them anymore, so I looked on Amazon & found this one. I never type reviews, but I had 2 do it today. Maybe the guy selling them will send me other stuff 2 test ...Lol!...call me!!!

These FAKE KEYPADS are built like CHEAP GARBAGE
The quality of work put into the simple battery insert is garbage. MILLIONS of us have inserted a triple AAA battery into an appliance, remote or whatever. I bought " 3 " of these pieces of garbage. Whoever designed these or put them together was a didn't care. Or they were put together by cheap labor, a toddler or a toddler suffering Parkinson's Disease. Like I said about MILLIONS of us over the years installing batteries into electronics - Very Simple, a spring holds and helps activate the battery with the spring pressure. I tried to install the batteries into 2 of these FAKE SECURITY KEYPADS - THE SPRINGS in the battery compartment DON'T line up, they're off center, they're sticking up. The ONLY way to have the batteries work properly is - to take it completely apart on a workbench with the proper tools and fix it. FIX what should have been sold as a quality product. I bought 3 of these @ $14.99 each - that's $44.97 NOT including TAX and MY TIME waiting for DELIVERY plus the TIME spent trying to get the AAA batteries to stay in this piece of crap because the springs were not installed properly. The only thing that would satisfy the time wasted with these 3 fake keypads i bought would be a refund and letting me smash them with a hammer. THEY'RE JUNK, CRAP. GARBAGE. I looked to see who its sold by? SOLD BY: Amazon.com Services Inc

Professional looking
Came sealed in a hard plastic w/2 batteries included. The batteries were DOA, so plan on probably needing 2 AAA batteries right away. Mounts easily w/included screws and anchors. With a flashing red LED and (at dusk) a green back-lit number pad it should look "real" and "operational" to any casual observer.
