I'm going to start the review by saying how pleasantly surprised I was by this unit. Its size was considerably larger than I had imagined and it also exceeded my expectations when it comes to quality.The initial unboxing had me feeling like it was another cheap product in terms of having to fit the handles and metal straps around the jug. A bit fiddly to begin with but shockingly robust once completed. The glass jug is fairly large, too large to fit on any of the shelves of our fridge but we've purchased another jug to keep the water chilled in the fridge, freeing up this one for near constant water distillingIn terms of timing, I fill the unit right up to its fill line (circa 3.5l) and it completes the full distillation in around 2-2.5 hours. It doesn't consume as much electricity as I thought it would either. Positioning may be key for some as the top of the unit pumps out hot air once the water has reached a high temperature and the distillation begins.The additional water tester that comes with the unit has made it great in testing the tap water against the final product. Our tap water has always appeared to be very hard, with huge limescale buildup in kettles, washing machines etc. The tester showed the tap water regularly testing between 240-360ppm of TDS (parts per million of total dissolved solids). This is not really an acceptable amount. After the unit has done its job and I've tested the clean water, it typically tests around the 6-7ppm mark, a huge difference. We now use the distilled water in the kettle and, whilst it's difficult to know its not entirely a placebo effect, the tea or coffee feels far smoother in texture and there is never any "scum" floating in the tea anymore.Overall, I'm very impressed with this unit. As mentioned, it's build quality really took me by surprise, its simplicity in filling it up, flicking the plug and pressing the one button (haven't needed to alter any settings except the first time fiddling to see what can be done if needed) and away it goes.If I'm to have any negatives about it, it would be that it is ever so slightly awkward in removing the top. The seal does a very good job holding the lid in place while under pressure during the process, so much so that pulling the lid off once it's cooled can take enough effort to make you feel like the handle with break. It hasn't thus far and I've managed to get a technique down in terms of holding the unit firmly and pulling the lid off at a slight angle. This seems to have helped. Other than that, I guess it's done wonders in changing my perception of my own drinking water. After seeing how many nasty solids (not the minute metals your body needs, the limescale and crud it doesnt) are left in the unit after each use, I'll be thinking twice in drinking the tap water unless I had no alternative

Bought this due to threats of fluoridation and I am more than happy. Easy to use and clean after. Amazing what you find after distilling. The filthy residue is stomach churning. So glad I have this.

I have just purchased the CO-Z 4L Water Distiller, 1750W Countertop Distilled Water Machine with Glass Container Dual Temperature Display Timer,1.1 Gallon 304 Stainless Steel Distilled Water Maker for Home Office TravelWhen the product is running the black top starts to lift up and water starts escaping between the top and the stainless steel container. This seems like a defect. Please help

My wife needed distilled water and this Distiller delivered on that requirement. It is easy to use compared to some models we have used in the past. The built quality is good and it is easier to clean.

This distiller is compact, portable and easy to use. It is fast, intuitive and versatile as the distilled water can be used for a variety of reasons, not just drinking. There is no huge difference in the taste of the water.It has a handle that makes it convenient to carry and can be used anywhere. There is a cleaning detergent provided for maintenance as and when necessary.It's definitely a very useful machine not only for health reasons but also to lead a better lifestyle.

Ordered this because I am tired of hauling water from the store. My well water is so bad I have a 4 stage filter on my sink but use distilled for the coffee pot and ice maker.I have made 6 gallons of water and it is working pretty good. It's light enough I can easily put it away when done. It has an on/off switch and is really quiet.It does come up a little short of 1 gallon but not a lot.Easy to clean, wipe the minerals out with vinegar.It doesn't have an automatic shut off so I stop it at 3-1/2 hours so the minerals don't burn on the bottom.The handle on the jug is worthless. Fought with it for an hour and gave up. The spout just sits on top so pouring with it is impossible. I take the spout off, use both hands to pour it into a pitcher then into a gallon jug.I can't speak for longevity yet but I have fingers crossed that it hangs in there through the winter.So far, very much worth the investment. Just a pain with no handle on the jug.

I’ve been using this pretty much daily since getting it, almost a month ago. It takes about 3-4 hours for the gallon of water to distill. One of the things I read after purchasing was that it does not automatically shut off. I had hope torun it every night and have the water by morning. So I carefully monitored it through the day or evening and would shut it off. Then, to my delight or perhaps I should be concerned, I noticed it was shutting off by itself at the end of a cycle. The switch stays on, but the unit stops. I simply have to push the reset button for the next load. Not sure if that is an issue or not, but seems ok so far. I still don’t leave it overnight to run yet. It pulls a ton of lime scale out of our hard water. I normally need to vinegar my teapot at least every two weeks if not more and I have not had one inth of lime scale in the teapot since using the distilled water from this unit. The fan is not too noisy, I can hear it though from another room. (We have no walls in between living spaces.). But the fan is not disruptive to conversation and such. I think it’s a good value for the nice pure water and the large amount it produces at one time.

The instruction and description process has been frustrating. The instructions appear to be generic, not specific to this model, some parts are just wrong. Despite the information on Amazon saying this has an auto shutoff, it doesn’t. It stops, but it doesn’t shut off, so you can set it and forget it. That leaves me one four hour window per day where I can babysit it. The unexplained/undocumented loose cap is useless. Then the handle, the handle it comes with is impossible to attach. Either it’s the wrong part or missing something. All the reviews and videos I’ve searched illustrate a different handle than this one (they attach from the sides). This one you have to stretch a too short metal band and then hold a square block against the glass somehow and then hold a handle up to it, insert a screw through the front. It’s impossible. I gave up trying after an hour.

Replaced a Megahome that only lasted 14 months with twice a day use. It more than paid for itself but I thought I would try a cheaper option this time. I'm glad I did because this one works the same for about half the price.

Second review. Seller wants me to send photo of problem. I am the second person who can not install the handle on the canister. Photo will not show the frustration of trying to use this poor method of attaching handle to canister. I have similar canister from another seller that handle design works fine. Other than sending me one already assembled this can not be fixed. If you want to struggle trying to line up holes in two stainless steel bands to a square nut and at the same time run a screw through the plastic handle forget it.
