Prandi Camping Hatchet - 5105CH

I was excited to get my hands on my first Prandi axe. Out of the box the hatchet appears well made at first glance. The head was polished nicely, the handle had acceptable grain, there was no varnish on the hickory handle, and the grind of the head was symmetrical. The edge was by no means sharp but with a little work with a file and stone it soon became razor sharp. The major problem is the head of the hatchet arrived with very poor fitment. There are huge open gaps between the bottom of the eye and the handle. The first time out with very light use the head has already become super loose. The head was never pressed down on the handle far enough. The head has slide down the handle almost 1/2 inch from where it originally was. This could have been a great axe for the money but poor fitment issues have made this axe unsafe for use. I will be contacting Prandi to see if they will do anything to help.
