Very nice rake
I needed a rake to move the wood around in my Alfa Brio pizza oven. I wanted the brand rake, but it's alot of money for what it is. I settled for this rake. I've used it on six times now, moving my burning wood from center of the oven to the side and it does the job perfectly. The rake is steel with aluminum handle which is sectional. I keep it full length and it is sturdy, zero wobble or looseness at all. I wipe it down after each use, it's perfect for what I need it for. I do recommend!

Handy as pockets on a shirt for ash removal !!!
Great for removing ash and wood pieces without lifting or removing the grate in limited space wood burning fireplace inserts, especially if they narrow toward the back wall. You can clean along the sides of the grate by using the blade vertically and beneath the grate by using it horizontally. Then use it scrape the ash into your fireplace shovel.

Sturdy Pizza Oven Ash Rake
We've owned a free-standing wood-fired pizza oven for a couple years that we use regularly. I build the wood fire towards the front of the oven in the middle and then when it is going strong the pieces of burning Hickory or Mesquite are divided and shoved in equal amount to each rear corner of the oven. Wood can then be added to the fire in the rear corners to maintain the temperature desired. The oven is 24" deep and I've used a 24" handled ash rake to split and shove the burning wood to the rear corners. The difficulty for me has been that the fire is very hot, and I always scorch my hands trying to get the fire to the rear corners. I ordered this 47" handled ash rake to save my hands from the scorching. This rake is just what I needed. It is heavy duty and yet light made of a combination of stainless steel for the rake end and aluminum for the long handle. The stainless-steel rake piece is attached to the handle solidly with 4 heavy duty rivets. The handle section attached to the rake piece is approximately 16" long. There are two remaining handle pieces which are each approximately 16" long. The rake could be assembled with just the end handle piece to give a rake handle length of 32" if desired. The handles attach together solidly with screw threads machined into the ends of the handle sections. The assembled rake is solid without any wobbles in the handle. It is strong enough to confidently slide any wood pieces that would be used in a pizza oven. I am very pleased with this rake and recommend it highly - no more scorched hands for me.

Well made and heavy duty
Ok, I have a pizza oven, but that's not why I bought this. I was actually looking for something to help in cleaning out the gutters. I'd looked at little rakes, but when I ran across this, I thought it might be a good fit. It's a very well made product. The aluminum handle is in 3 sections - a section with a rubber covered handle, a middle section that you can use if you want to extend the length, and the main section with the actual stainless scoop on the end. Each section is machined and threaded, so whichever section(s) you choose, they just attach to one another easily. The scoop at the end is attached with 4 sturdy rivets. If you don't use it as a pizza ash scoop (or to clean your gutters like me), I think you could attach an amulet to the end of it and find the Ark of the Covenant, if you were in the right place at the right time. Very pleased with this.I might even use it in my pizza oven, now that I think about it.

Solid but not too heavy
This ash rake is going to be very useful once the weather warms up. It connects easily with threaded ends and is very solid once assembled - no wobbles. It is long enough to reach to the back of our pizza oven without scorching our hands. It can be assembled without the middle handle section if you don't need something so long. The steel rake end will hold up for the long term. The price is great for saving our hands from scorching too.

Nice and big!
A little too big for my Ooni Fyra. It won't fit top to bottom! However, it does fit on its side, and seems to work fine. Until I got this, I was using a wire brush to sweep ashes out between pizzas. The brush wasn't the best at capturing ashes, and repeatedly reaching into a 900 degree oven isn't a good idea if you value your hands! With the rake, you don't have to brush, just drag. I use the brush to get the ashes off the lip once the rake has brought them forward, a much safer and more efficient process. In the pictures, I don't have the middle part of the handle in and it's plenty long. If you use your pizza oven regularly, this is the tool you didn't know you were missing!
