Typically found on birch trees across the northern hemisphere, in colder climates, the Chaga Mushroom (Inonotus Obliquus), is a powerful mushroom, renowned for its antioxidant, and immune boosting properties. Chaga has been used as a herbal medicine across europe and asia for centuries, and is usually consumed as a tea, but is also used to make a healthier coffee alternative. Chaga Powder is abundant with Beta-D-Glucans, which helps to boost the immune system and stabilize it when it is overactive. On top of this, Chaga is extremely high in antioxidant, and is in the top 10 of the ORAC scale, which measure the antioxidant properties of foods and beverages. To make a Chaga tea, simple add half a teaspoon of chaga powder to a cup, and mix with hot water, stir and leave to brew for a few minutes, before straining. You can also add either syrup or honey to sweeten the drink.
