Didn't live up to expectations

I purchased this lantern for a camping trip on the basis of other reviews posted. Unfortunately, despite reviews saying it provided a very good level of light I was disappointed with it and ended up returning it. It's really nothing more than and upright torch and provides a general glow in the 6-12 inches surrouning the lantern.
