Thin and lightweight
This is an excellent addition to my camping and emergency gear! I like that it is larger than most "survival signal mirrors" in surface area but it's way thinner so it takes up less space and weight. As a comparison, a lot of the small "survival signal mirrors" are about 1 1/2 " x 2", for a total surface area of 3 square inches. This one is 4.3" x 3.1", or 13 1/2 square inches. That's over 4x the surface area, which translates into your signal carrying a significantly further distance. It also weighs just a fraction less. The mirror fits well inside a Maxpedition Micro pocket organizer. I have a photo attached... do you see the mirror? NOPE! Because it's tucked behind the light blue bandanna in the left pocket.

Great for emergency & backpacking!
Got this for emergencies and for backpacking. It would have been nice to have come in a scratch type proof bag, but had some extra sunglass draw string bag I was able to put it in and it was perfect. Can't wait to use camping.

Cheap, Flimsy, and Delivered Broken
Delivered damaged, broken in half, despite intact packaging. At this price, not worth the hassle of jumping through all the hoops Amazon required to replace a literal broken mirror. Spend a few dollars more on something more robust.

Exactly What I Was Looking For.
Was looking for a compact mirror to carry in my day pack. Most others were too big and bulky. Not only is this a signaling mirror, but perfect for my needs.

distorts in sun but...
For the ultimate lightweight backpacker, this is great. However, I am not in that category and do want to use this mirror for more than emergency signaling (never been there yet). I have noticed that when the mirror got hot, the reflection got distorted. It would have been better for me to have gotten a more substantial mirror, which is what I was really looking for.The Seller contacted me and offered a refund. I declined as I decided on another use for the mirror. I am very pleased with the seller.

Not a signal mirror
I bought this because my father's WWII era signal mirror (besides being too heavy for backpacking) had lost most of its silvering. I expected a light weight version of the same: designed to accurately aim the sun's light at a distant target. My father's had a clear sight in the center and was silvered on the back so you could align the target with a reflection of the light coming through the sight. (The physics explaining how this works is pretty cool.) Instead, I got a simple plastic mirror: no sight, no silver on the back. The instructions show no awareness of the nifty century-old technology I was expecting. Use it to comb your hair. It's good for nothing else.

A very lightweight mirror!
This is a ridiculously lightweight mirror, weighed in at just over 1oz. I carried it with me on backcountry hiking, and it held up very well in a very tightly and abused pack. It's just plastic/acrylic with a reflective backing, not like a real mirror, but that is definitely a plus. Worked well as a personal mirror and probably would've been sufficient for a kind of signal mirror. The hole in the center of it is supposed to help you aim while reflecting light off of it - used as a signal. A little overpriced, but it was half the weight of any other mirror out there, and hoping it'll last a few seasons before it breaks.
