A perfect gift to myself! Designed by a gifted and innovative lace lover and it shows. Delicate and ethereal gossamer lace through to winter warming knits. The book is aimed at the knitter who is at ease with charts but don't let that put you off as if you will find these easy to follow, such is the cleverness of the designs . Another great idea that I love, the charts have been seperately printed on good quality paper and neatly stored in the back leaf of the book. This allows you to make a working copy without damaging the book usually by breaking the spine to make it lay flat enough , or trying to follow a chart and fighting the book to stop it closing The charts, numbered to match page and design, are clear and sharp easy to read and have standard lace chart abbreviations. All in all for me a book I will get lots of pleasure from along with some stunning knitted shawls and scarves. Highly recommended

Some really lovely patterns which I will enjoy knitting! It is well laid out with beautiful photographs of the shawls and stoles. There is a pocket inside the back cover which holds the sheets of charts - I really like this idea as I can easily copy the charts to the size I like and write on them too, without squashing the book flat in the copier. This also keeps the book to a smaller size which I imagine must keep the cost down. A great book if you like lace knitting.

Beautiful book. Some of the instructions don’t confirm to normal UK English abbreviations but the glossary is very clear and I’m sure it will be fine once I get going. It would be nice you’re see some full square or circular shawls for babies in any further publications! It would also help to have more images if the items in the listing so you can see better what you are buying.UPDATE:I started one project and have found conflicting instructions. I am unsure about one of the techniques they describe so will be contacting the authors for help.

It is a nice and helpful knitting book

If only the charts had been actually fastened into the pocket and not loose then I may have been able to keep this book. The designs are lovely but the book I received direct from Amazon had no charts in the pocket, hence the disappointment and the hassle of returning this via the Amazon Locker (with no choice of return dates, not good). Be aware, you may have the same experience.

Lovely patterns. Have started knitting one already for friends birthday and hope to make more for Christmas presents. Would definitely recommend this book to other knitters.

Disappointed. The knits look great but found one pattern has instructions missing, and if you crib the abbreviation off another pattern it still didn’t work. Another pattern couldn’t get to work at all. Wouldn’t recommend.
