In Testing the this tourniquet showed the ability to stop the blood flow from the extremities in the event of a traumatic wound with significant bleeding. This tourniquet uses a durable windless system with an internal free-moving band to totally encompass and apply pressure to the extremity. Once properly placed and tightened bleeding will stop and the windlass is then locked into place. The hook and loop is then applied securing the windlass to maintain pressure to the area during withdrawal. This system does not use any small pieces that may be difficult to find and use in the high stress situation you may find yourself in.
