Magnetic Reacher, Adhesive

What a great tool! I especially like how little space it takes up. Works as advertised, great price. One of my favorite buys this year!

I ordered this because it said it had a magnet attached. There is none!

I've bought at least four of these over the years. They do a great job of picking up things with their sticky pads, but there are two problems. First, unlike the photo, they no longer have a tether from the cover to the body of the stick. The pad cover can pop off fairly easily, and it can be a bear to find it. Of course, when it had the tether, it was easy to break it by telescoping the handle without removing the cover.The second problem is that you can pull too hard on the handle when extending it, and it will break. You can still use it, but you'll have to be careful when extending it that it doesn't come apart.That being said, I have purchased at least five of these reachers - they work well and are small enough to tuck into a small sleeve on my power chair. The adhesive works great, and if it stops picking up items, you can simply rinse it, let it dry, and it's good as new.

They call this a "magnetic" reacher, but there is no magnet on the one I purchased. No big deal, though, as I didn't want a magnet. I just wanted a stick (with a slightly sticky end) that I could use at work to pick up dropped papers and cards. And this does the trick. The disc is that same sticky material you'll find on certain lint rollers. I'm guessing it can be cleaned and rejuvenated by placing it under a warm stream of water, but there were no instructions (or anything) included in the package I received. It did come with a little plastic cover that fits over the round end, enabling you to stick it in your pocket until it's needed (without sticking to the inside of your pocket).

It worked great at first. I've tried cleaning the adhesive with warm water and soap but nothing will stick now.

i wonder how i ever lived without this. I am a paraplegic and it is always with me. I had to add to my review. I dropped my iPhone 11 on the floor and there was no one here to get it for me. My Reacher could not grab bu it could not pick it up and I never thought the teacher would have enough strength to pick it up but it did. It was constantly ringing my daughter was getting concerned because I did not answer. My aid had not showed up and my being paralyzed I needed to let someone know. That telestik saved my life. Every one who cannot reach things need the TELESTIK . It is my best friend and my side kick. ❤️

Bought this to help putting puzzles together. Because of my age I find it difficult to get up and down reaching for puzzle pieces, especially 1000 piece + puzzles. So far it’s working just like I had hoped. My concern is how long the sticky surface will last even after cleaning. They should offer extra pads with this device. But if you are someone that puts a lot of puzzles together you have to have this no matter how old you are.
