electronic and the software end Sony does maintain its lead in the portable or other Audiovisual devices, as for these headphones I have noticed one additional thing as I do own bose, senhizer, AKG and had also used Pioneer headphones unfortunately majority of the big names in the league does do well at the electronic and the software end but most of them fail on the mechanical end as buttons not responding to the desired commands, which is very annoying for the big money you have splashed out out of the brand name, it has only been Sony who never failed on either side of the game electronics /software and the mechanical end, it never gave me any issues even after the use of over ten years it would work as exactly as it was bought a new, I am much much more than happy to have saying that these headphones are the ones that I am sure are going to last over 15 years and I shall not need anymore cans to splash out for me to waste my money & time, in search of the best value years ago and they are exactly as good as the best of any brand, quality or name could claim, I get my friends come over to me many a times just to have a listen to the best of the audio visual enjoyment which I take pride in it for myself, coming back to the Sony headphones here is the crunch line saying that you need only to buy this one in your lifetime and forget about what future holds These are my second pair of over ear, noise cancelling headphones.My previous ones were a cheap brand I got from Amazon.com, and used them for traveling. Somehow, part of the frame got broken and they were no longer tight enough to be effective.I bought these when I spotted them in the Amazon Warehouse. When they arrive, there was some very slight damage to the packaging, and there was a sticker on the box saying it was a warehouse sale.. Inside, the headphones comes with a regular 3.5mm audio connector and (should come with) a micro usb which is used for charging (mine did not).In use, these are pretty effective in a noisy office. I understand how these work, and will always be better on constant noise (like the drone noise inside a plane) than talking in an office, but they do an OK job at drowning out a couple of noisy colleagues in an open plan office.Audio wise, they are remarkably good. I use them a lot for YouTube, and I've even used them for video conferencing, the inbuilt microphone is very clear so I am told by other people on the calls.Bluetooth pairing was pretty simple, I've paired to both an iPhone and also a Mac. The Mac took a bit of playing around, that is more of a Mac OS thing than any fault of these headphones. Bot now they are paired, everything is all good. Switching them on, I get spoken notification they are on, and spoken notification they are paired. A quick press of the off-on button also tells me the battery status.I've got about 16-20 hours out of them from one charge (2 days at the office), and there was still juice left in the battery, but I put it back on to charge overnight. There is a quick charge functionality, the box claims 10 mins to get 60 mins. , I'm not sure how accurate that is, but they seem to charge quickly.They are pretty good comfort wise, although I have not worn them for more than about 4 hours without taking them off for an hour at lunchtime. Next time I'm on a 12 hour flight will be the test of them, but they are not tight on my head, and my ears do not feel like I've been in a rugby scrum.The instructions advise that they will not charge via a hub, but should be connected directly to a charger. I've got mine connected directly to a regular (Anker brand) changer, and a regular usb and it works just perfectly.Overall, I'm very pleased with them, even at the full price, they are a lot better than what I previously had, both in regard to the noise cancelling and definitely in regard to the audio quality.
