A fairytale for real!! A rom com lovers paradise!!
Okay, I don't know where to begin!! I just finished it , and it was all that I expected from Ashley poston!A girl who enters her favourite book, into the lovely town of Eloraton, where everything feels like home, and every character feels like a long lost friend. This book was magical, dreamy and just perfect! It had a perfect meet cute, a grumpy sunshine trope and nailed romance to the T. Some of the things that I thought had a recurring thing in Ashley poston books were the names of her female leads are based on songs, like Eileen is and Clementine was. I love that small little detail. After reading her two books, I can safely say she is my go to romance author now!!! For Life!!

Lost in the book world
A Novel Love Story is a plot that takes us to travel with Eileen, a devoted reader of the well-known romance novel series by Rachel Flowers. I found it difficult to comprehend the first few chapters of the story; it looks slow. Everything was so confusing; I read about her, her BFF, her club, and a weird town.It starts with her annual book club retreat getting canceled. This makes Eileen embark on a solo trip, hoping to escape her personal troubles. She gets lost along the way and eventually finds herself in the town of Eloraton. She doesn't know the town and is having trouble figuring out what happened. All this does not make any sense at all till Eileen finds that the town mirrors the fictional world of the Flowers' series. The town’s characters and setting are all familiar to Eileen, but they don’t recognize her, leaving her to figure out whether she’s truly in a fantasy or trapped in a dreamlike reality. This marks the transition point from where I was completely into the book. Being a book lover, I had always dreamed to get lost in the world of books. and here this story is actually one like that. I could relate with Eileen and found here so closely related with myself. The book had so many moments, which I annotated, and I felt as if it was speaking about me and how I felt at times.I thoroughly enjoyed the book and felt it was a good read. We actually chose this as the BOTM for our September book club meet with the BBC. Though everyone has had mixed thoughts over the book, I enjoyed it and loved reading the book. the perspective she had, and it felt as if the book was written for me, for me to reflect, for me to self-introspect and understand me.I would really wish a few of my friends had read the book, and I am tagging you guys. Go grab the copy and do read it.

Strictly okay read
🔹 My take: 3.25/5🔸 A novel love story revolves around Eileen, 32 who is a die hard fan of the romcom book series by an author Rachel Flowers. Eileen and her best friend Prudence go on a week holiday every year with their book club friends spent in a cabin away from worldly hustle bustle. This year none can make it and Eileen badly needs a distraction from her personal circumstances. She goes solo but loses her way on the road trip and stumbles upon an unknown town which to her astonishment is none other than Eloraton, the fictional town created by Rachel Flowers in her series. The characters, the geography all resemble the books. While Eileen knows everyone, the vice versa is not true. The story progresses from how Eileen survives within the town since she is lost as to where reality merges into fiction. And it concludes with a strong twist at the end.💖 Wows - I was in love with the fictional town even before its entry. The word building and the vibes oozed the small town romance sensation. The concept per se of one entering into a fictional world and working their way out was mind blowing. The romance moments in there especially the clock tower one and the bench one have my heart. There are many instances where renowned books and authors have been referenced and that was endearing. This is that cozy winter or spring feel good read.💔 Ows - While the background was so scenic, the characters themselves were very fickle and that’s what marred the experience here. It was too much to take on with multitude of people from book series, Eileen’s personal life and her book club friends. With each having their own story included; the basic plot was sidelined. The male character Anders hardly had dedicated space for himself and the love story did not sound much convincing. Eileen was more annoying than lovable and when she meddled in other people’s stories, I felt like giving the advice “First apply your own oxygen mask, and then think of helping others” 😒.💫 I found this an average read. Would suggest picking this up if you are invested in fictional world building and magical realism ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫My review is more for the book and not for the author. The writing is definitely great and am sure even without reading her other books, that it would be superb.

Going to be a good cozy read
The media could not be loaded. I have read the seven years slip by Ashley poston before, and I am certain that her writing style has captivated my heart. she is capable instilling, deep, mind-boggling thoughts, but in a much simpler language into your head and the story never gets monotonous. sometimes a contemporary light read is all we need, but being a fantasy read myself, I’ll be honest that sometimes I do get tired of the heavy world building and this book is perfect for a super light read, but with also a hint of magic in it, so people who read contemporary or romcom, and want to try the fantasy genre can definitely try this. One thing I didn’t like about it was the delivery. The package wasn’t very study, and there were dirty fingerprints on the pages at the top.

adorable..
Aww, I thought this was super cute.I couldn't even imagine how geeked out I would be to find myself in one of my favorite fictional towns. I thought Elsie handled this revelation pretty well, and how could you not help but get involved in all the lives you've been reading about forever? At first, I really loved the idea of Elsea and Anderson together. Their first meeting was pretty spectacular, and he owns a bookstore, so he definitely has a really big point already in his favor. Then, after they had some words, which I think Elsie needed to hear, I wasn't sure how they were going to get to any kind of romantic feelings. But of course, being the kind of book you know is going to have a happily ever after I knew we were going to get there somehow.I loved all the people that were living in Eloraton, and how Elsie helped them move forward out of the rut they had been stuck in.I loved the setting, and I really loved how everything turned out in the end.

Ashley Poston does it again
4.5 rounded up. You can never go wrong with an Ashley Poston release. While this story took a little longer to have me head over heels, I was deeply in love with it all the same by the end. It was like a sweet stroll into love, patient and intentional. Only some of the accessory characters had me not caring so greatly about them, often wanting to jump back to figuring out how our MC and her novel companion might come together. I’m heart warmed by the end, and A Novel Love Story is safely tucked next to her sister’s on my favourites shelf.

Small Town romance, grumpy sunshine, ennemies to lovers perfectly done !
Imagine if you could live in one of your favorite book universe for a few days... This is what happens to Eileen : she is transported in Eloraton where her favorite romance serie takes place !The small town romance vibe, the ennemies to lovers and grumpy sushine = I immediately knew I was going to love it ! But it was so much more than that.As Eileen met the characters of her favorite book and tried to help them finish their stories, she found a way to heal and grow up from her heartbreak. Anders was stuck in an universe where he felt safe and where the remnants of his past life stayed with him, haunting him but at the same time, making him feel safe. What a beautiful way to tell a story about being stuck in the past, being in a stagnancy state in your life by living in a book where nothing changes !As usual, Ashley Poston’s writing is so poetic. The way she describes Eloraton made me feel like the city was a character in the story. I had the same feeling about New-York, while reading “The Seven Year Slip”. I’m going to be honest, there were some lenghts in the middle and sometimes I got lost between all the characters of the book but the end... OMG the end. It was perfect. I couldn’t stop crying because it was sad and beautiful at the same time. Healing brings a lot of grief and Ashley Poston does that perfectly !Once again, a perfect book by this author who made me fall in love with magical realism !
