Works in 97 Bonneville - with some mods
Old speakers: Open circuit (dead)I installed these Kenwood 6x9" speakers in the rear of my old 97 Bonneville. They were slightly too large for the mounting trays on the rear deck so I had to enlarge slightly with my Dremel grinder. Had to remove about 1/8" in the corners and then about a 1/16" around the rest of the opening. Took me about 30 minutes of grinding this plastic material using a metal grinding bit. The old Delco speakers were 10 ohms so I searched for 8 ohm speakers which are very hard to find in 6x9, so I ended up buying these Kenwood 4 ohm speakers. Also, since all they give you is a little pigtail wire off the speakers, I had to do some soldering and crimping after cutting off the old connectors in the trunk. Being an electronics guy, I didn't want to take the chance of overloading (possibly frying) the audio amplifier so I installed a 4 ohm resistor (purchased here at Amazon) in series (now 8 ohm load) to approximate the old loads. The amplifier probably could have handled 4 ohms, but I didn't want to take a chance since I had no specs on it. And... you will notice on the speakers that I added the fiber cushioning gasket which I removed from my old speakers with a razor blade. If you're installing these on a metal surface, I would definitely recommend putting some sort of spacer cushion like these on the speakers to avoid any rattle or unwanted vibrations. So how does it sound? Very good! Good medium-low bass and crisp higher frequencies. It was more work than thought it would be but ya, it was worth it.

2018 Toyota Tundra
Good crisp sound and can't beat the price. These have a deeper magnet than my stock speakers on the 2018 Tundra (by like a CM) so I had to scoot them over a bit and drill new holes into the adapter that I paired to go with them to keep them from bumping the window track. Overall, they sound good and the price is excellent. 👍

Nice Speakers that did not fit my doors even though Amazon fitment said they would!
Nice 6x9 speakers HOWEVER the speaker did not fit to doors of my Dodge Ram as stated in the amazon fitment guide.Returned speakers.Ultimately orders replacement two 2ohm woofer door speakers from Crutchfield who only had 1 application that would fit my application.

Great speakers
Great speakers I’m under powering mine off stock wires right now and they still sound crisp after messing with some settings they have some decent base but keep there mids well, they sound like they cost double what I paid and if I had more spots for them I’d definitely buy them again

Really nice speakers for the money, but do NOT fit 2006 Honda Accord out of the box.
To be clear, I'm not an audiophile, so I'm no expert on overall sound quality. But I do know when speakers are dead, and the read deck speakers in my trusty 2006 Honda Accord were toast. Between being stock in the first place, the car's age and spending most of its life sitting outside under the Texas sun, the original speakers sounded like someone had shoved a pillow in them.So based on reviews and the assertion that they fit my car, I bought these. They came well packaged, and after figuring out how to pull the covers and speakers on my car, I installed these, which was pretty simple. I also used the recommended adapter (which I'll review separately but worked perfectly) to connected the leads. So far so good. I tested them. Sounds much, much better. Then I tried to put the stock grills on. In short, the new speakers have a tall metal lip (for lack of a better word) that run around them, so from where they sit against the back deck they are taller than the original speakers, and the original Honda grill has a lip with foam on it that meets the height of the old speakers, forming a bit of a seal. It is well designed by Honda, but these speakers' lip runs into the lip hanging down from the speaker grill, so that was kind of a problem. I wanted to keep the original stock grills, and the grills that came with the new speakers would not have worked the way Honda has the speakers mounted anyway.I went to work with my handy Dremel, and after pulling off the foam, cut down the lip on the original Honda speaker grills by about 2/3rds of an inch all the way around. I reapplied the foam as best I could (the good news is that after all these years it was still somewhat sticky on the underside), and then shoved the grills back into place. I'm sure it is not as tight a seal as it was when it came from the factory.However... The sound is about 100% better. Really rich, dynamic sound on my daily 25-mile commute. Well worth the price and the hassle of putting them in.My brother in law has the same car and has 332,000 miles on his. I'm hoping to get another 200,000 on mine to catch up with him. Hopefully, these speakers will last that long. ;)So all good in the end with these speakers, but be warned that the height of the speakers may interfere with your stock grill as I described.

Great door speakers for 2011 Toyota Highlander
The sound produced by the Kenwood KFC-6966S speakers is simply outstanding. The 3-way design delivers a rich and immersive audio experience. The highs are crisp, the mids are well-balanced, and the bass response is punchy without overpowering the other frequencies. Whether I'm listening to my favorite music or enjoying podcasts during my commute, these speakers consistently impress with their clarity and depth. Not only do these speakers sound great, but they are also built to last. The quality construction ensures durability and reliability, even when exposed to the vibrations and temperature fluctuations of the car environment. I appreciate the attention to detail in the design, as it enhances the overall performance and longevity of the speakers. Its impressive audio performance, along with its ease of installation, makes it a worthy upgrade for car enthusiasts who value premium sound reproduction. If you're looking to enhance your in-car audio experience, these speakers are an excellent choice.
