If you WERE keeping it full of beans, there's a trapdoor on the bottom that snaps shut if you take the hopper off, so you're not accidentally dumping it. There are still beans left over beneath where the door sits, so I'd still suggest you wait till the grinder is empty before trying to take the hopper off for cleaning, but it's a nice touch that it's there! One minor, case-specific complaint is that this grinder produces more fines than I'd like. It's not fine city out here, but there are definitely enough to impact your shot if you're grinding for espresso.
