Difficult to read, but well-written
This was a difficult book to read. The senseless murder of two such innocent children and the vivid description of the way they were left, the anguish of the mothers and the painfully slow investigation was difficult to get through emotionally. The many setbacks toward a final resolution added to my frustration. At times I had to put it down and do something light to clear my head so I could get back to the book. But that was the only way that this story could be told. Although painful to read, Bosworth did an excellent job of telling this story and helping the reader to feel the pain of the victims. My only criticism is that the Kindle version had a lot of punctuation errors such as periods being left off the ends of sentences and several sentences that made no sense.

Elusive justice
When I say"I loved it" with 5 stars, I loved the way it was written as only a wordsmith such as Charles Bosworth, Jr. could write it. The familys' experience, however involved no love except for the ADA they finally were granted as their knight in shining armor. The bumbling, ineffective police became a gut-wrenching barrier to the justice these families deserved in their deep bereavement for their heinously murdered children. The many, many clue and leads provided by people whom the murderer bragged to, were left in limbo until an ADA was assigned to the case and bravely, determinedly mounted a prosecution which ultimately brought an element of closure. This book put me right into the ragefilled frustration the families suffered due to the many errors of omission and commission by the police, especially the chief. When yet another snafu occurred and the mothers would heartbreakingly say, "Oh, no. Not again!" I said it right along with them. I highly recommend this book and any book by this experienced newsman.

"Every Mother's Nightmare" by Charles Bosworth, Jr. is a well-written account of a justice system run amok.
Tyler Winzen was but a toddler when he was found floating dead in a bathtub. Also dead in the same time was Stacy Price, a young woman in her mid-teens.This book is the story of Mari Kane and Jude Govreau's horrid trip through the justice system that did everything to protect the guilty and almost connived to deny peace to the innocent. Mari Kane is Tyler's mother with Jude the mother of Stacy. They were murdered by a friend of Mari's ex-husband and Tyler's father, Eugene Fleer. It was a mess of a crime, with another innocent, Mari's husband's friend.First, let me say that this book was extremely well-written. Author Charles Bosworth, Jr. is touted on the book cover as a NY Times best-selling author. I believe it. This was a complicated, and at times very dry with the details. But Bosworth did one helluva job conjugating nouns and verbs and with just a bit of concentration I was able to understand all the details. Not that this horrid crime should have to be understood. It was the act of the meanest and nastiest among us and yet the prosecutor took its time, a sheriff failed to notify the jurors and a witness caused a mistrial. There was a lot of drug dealing in this crime and events leading up to it. All of the "players" were involved with drugs, including, sadly but very much part of the story, young Tyler's mother. The motive for the murder has never been established. Some believe Fleer killed the kids to hurt Tyler's father, Steve Winzen. Some believe it was an attempted sexual assault on young Stacy. The story is compelling and I could not put it down. One character in the book, a Patricia Stallings, had been convicted unfairly and that case's effect on these murders is eerie.Every time the cock crowed some "harm" had been done to the defendant and in one incident, the entire court case was declared a mistrial. The suffering of those mothers as they tried to get justice for their children is very well documented, good use of language but not overdone and very believable.Download this book and give it a thorough read. Your mind will spin with the state of justice of late.

Full of errors
This story was well-told in the sequence of events as well as the import of the legal process. The portrayal of the victims' survivors, witnesses, law enforcement personnel and court officials was realistic and I felt lent authenticity to the events that spanned over years. It was heartbreaking to read about the pain the two mothers had to endure throughout the investigation and trial proceedings.I rated this Kindle version of the book at two because of the large number of typing errors throughout the text. This format is rife with typos, inaccuracies, omissions, misspellings, repeated words, phrases and sentences and grammatical and punctuation errors, which made reading this book to the end very laborious. Referring back to verify information, rereading to infer what meaning was intended because of errors added a lot of time to the reading of this book. I frequently considered abandoning it because of this extra work.I recommend the book for the story and encourage you to purchase a different copy than this Kindle version for greatest clarity and interest in the reading.

Turgid
A sad story, but turgid and repetitive. In need of some hard editing, and correction of the typos, grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. I gave up after the first few chapters - too many extraneous characters and too detailed description of the mothers' agonies and hysteria. (We can imagine for ourselves the depth of their distress - we don't need every fainting fit described.) I haven't deleted it from my Kindle yet - I might skip a big chunk and go back to it.

Goog in parts
Tragic story of a monster that killed for absolutely no reason, though there are never "good" reasons most killers try and justify themselves and their actions, this was so horrific and pointless ending two young lives before they had even properly started, the writing I found to be a bit disjointed......the author in some parts, to me, seemed to plod from one point to the next and I had to re-read to find the flow of the point they were making. Apart from that quite a good read.

In depth account
A really in depth account of two appalling murders. The fact that the victims were two children makes it even more despicable. A very good read for true crime enthusiasts and the only minus point is that there are so many typing errors and incorrect words used in sentences that it made some passages hard to understand !!

Long drawn out story.
Long drawn out book which I gave up on half way through so never found out who actually did it which was a bit frustrating but I got bored of trying to get through it. Too May characters made it hard to follow.
