As others have noted the sound and picture quality isn't pristine on these collections. However for the price you pay per movie (Around 30 Cents a movie at the price I paid) these things can be over looked. There are some real bad movies in this set, a few I only made it 5 min. into and a couple I wished I had turned off 5 min. into. Some are so hokey you can only laugh at them. And some are really great classic sciFi. All in all you get over 50 hours worth of watching entertainment (closer to 70 hours in most cases) for less then 2 movie tickets cost now days. And the stuff being made today isn't really all that better most times. If you like old movies and like watching stuff you might not have seen (or at least haven't seen in a while) and can over look the film scratches and wonky sound on occasion then this is the move pack for you. Review: Shipped fast, best as a gag joke - The quality of the movies is just a joke as the special effects are as bad as expected. Great for a laugh in small doses. The shipping was quick! This would be an excellent gag joke for a SciFi nerd.

Fun collection of public domain films with some really nice extras
No doubt these are all public domain movies available on multiple sets. I have to give this set a big thumbs up though for a couple of reasons: The 10 films here are all available as I stated in numerous collections-especially in the well-known Mill Creek 50 movie mega-sets. However the Mill Creek sets come in flimsy cardboard boxes that really don't hold up in storage at all. Even stacking those various 50 DVD sets on top of one another and the boxes on the bottom of the stack pretty much break at the boxes' seams. Matter of fact I probably have all 10 of these films spread out somewhere in my Mill Creek box sets, but pull this set out when i want to watch one of the films. Here, St Clair (the company releasing these various 10-movie sets) gives us a nice thick double width standard plastic DVD case with great fun cover art. The prints used are pretty much what you would expect from public domain movies, but I swear a few of them are better than what I have on my various other public domain sets. Certainly NOT remastered but possibly taken from better film prints than others have released. BUT-the REAL reason I love this set so much is that the company releasing these seems to have gone out of their way to make this whole thing a really FUN experience by giving us so really cool extras on each disc. Disc 3-because it has 4 movies already squeezed onto the disc gives us only a very short, written "Brief History of Sci-Fi Movies" which runs 3 1/2 minutes. Disc 2 has a 24 1/2 minute radio episode of Buck Rogers, played over still images taken from various Sci-Fi movies over the years (ranging from the 1940's to 1980's and featuring a whole bunch of still shots from "Phantom From Space" 1953). Disc 1 is the real keeper though- 26 1/2 minutes of trailers from mostly classic Sci-Fi films from the 1950's to probably the 1980's, all in fantastic quality I have not seen elsewhere. You have the option to play all of them, or even choose individual trailers to view. That's a real plus for something that is just an "extra". Some of these trailers I have not seen before on various other compilations which feature movie trailers. Apart from that, they group the films on their individual discs in a way which (to me) makes more sense than just throwing them in random order. You may be in the mood for one specific film on one of these discs and stick around for the other 2 or 3 because they pretty much fit into the same mold. I'll continue to look for these St Clair sets as long as they keep the quality up and the price down and will select them first ahead of other companies offerings when it comes to budget priced public domain multi-movie sets. Disc 1: The Phantom From 10,000 Leagues The Brain That Wouldn't Die Teenagers From Outer Space plus Sci-Fi movie trailers Disc 2: The Phantom Planet First Spaceship On Venus They Came From Beyond Space plus Buck Rogers radio episode Disc 3: The Atomic Brain The Last Woman On Earth The Giant Gila Monster The Amazing Transparent Man plus a short written history of Sci-Fi films

An Obvious Deal, But Beware. . .
There must be a few different versions of this sci fi set. I purchased it mostly for the movie "Robot Monster" which some reviews said was in this box set. It however is missing as are "Battle Of The Worlds" and "Zontar". So don't neccesarily expect to get the exact same 50 movies listed or reviewed. You'll get most of them though. In my set, just three movies are switched with three other films. The films in this box set are mostly sci fi cheese! Some like "She Gods Of Shark Reef" and "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" are so stupid that they are just stupid. Others like "Killers From Space" or the Gamera flicks are so stupid that they're hilarious! Most are pretty dull and tacky, but still fun to watch. It's hard to complain about getting 50 movies for so cheap, but I do wish this set had more focus. There are movies from the 1930's all the way to the early 1990's! Overall, a decent set of films and worth the price I paid.

sci fi classics 50 movie pack
far as i am concerned these films are great, some of them i can recall from years back when i was small watching them on t.v. these older movies have more character than the modern ones. the actors had to work harder with facial expressions than they do today and to buy so many films in the one offer was too tempting i would recommend this set to anyone who likes old sci fi movies some people will say they are rubbish but i think they are great with all these movie sets one does tend to collect extra copies of different movies i don't mind that because there are more movies in the set that i don't have and it goes to say that some are better than others in audio and picture quality but in general it is still a good buy. wayne shepherd

Terrible Purchase
Worst Collection of Movies I ever Bought. Several of them would freeze up and would not play. Others had no plots and were very boring. A complete waste of money. To bad the return date has already passed.

A Glorious cornucopia of B movies treasures
As a movie Maniac I had to get this amazing collection of campy otherworldly and delightful B movies compilation. Don't expect DVD quality here get a multi region player instead and find the right settings and choose the resolution 720p and a 4:3 ratio as on an Oled TV 😬 it really shows that these movies are 70 years old, the acting is wooden and amateurish but for me it's part of the charm. Like a time machine we get a peep into the past most were cheaply made by Independent creators using formulaic stereotypes that we all know and love. If you can accept these limitations you and your friends/family will have a great time 😁

So much for such a small price
I'M really glad they restocked this item as I am a fan of sci-fi movies, old and new. I'M sure to discovers old golden nuggets in this pack. I'M not expecting them all to be tantalizing, but with so many, it's expected. Great selection, well packed and timely shipped.

SciFi classics.
Bought used-Disc 5 side A Hercules unchained; the last movie on the disc kept skipping. Unable to watch the ending. I will buy this movie on single disc later. I liked to know what happened the last 10 minutes of the movie.

SUPERB VALUE FOR MONEY!
I have to give these a Five Star rating - simply for the fact that where can you get 50 movies for this kind of money? Okay; so they're not the best quality; apart from the picture and sound quality on some is not so good, most of the Discs in my Set had marks/scratches on them, but having had a replacement Set thinking it was a bad lot I'd received, they were the same, and so I simply put this down to 'cheapness' - and what can one really expect for this kind of money... I've watched a few of them so far - some are good - some are not, but at the end of the day in terms of value for money; you have hours and hours of entertainment, and if you watch say one movie a night, they'd last you two months! Work that out, and there's not a lot else you can buy in terms of entertainment that you could get for this paltry sum! NOTE: They also play on a Region 2 DVD Player!
