Absolute Preacher Vol. 1 (2023 Edition)

THE BEST ABSOLUTE EDITION !!! Everything about the book is class-apart. Marvellous.... a tempting graphic comic.. must have for die-hard preacher fans!!! I am reading, dreaming and living in it!!! I've been reading graphic novels since 2014, I had heard of 'preacher' but never paid it any mind. What an idiot I am! After reading book 1 from comixology I immediately looked into what was the best way to read and own the rest of preacher. Make no mistake about it the absolute edition is THE best way to read and own this book. It is a beautiful book inside and out. The hardest decision about this book is not justifying the price, its how you are going to display it slipcase out or book out! It came well protected inside of a even bigger box, INSIDE AN EVEN BIGGER BOX! no problems with any damage or anything. The story itself if you have no experience is based on a simple idea what would happen if an angel and a demon had a child? And what would happen if God found out about it? Written by Gareth Ennis (who also wrote 'the boys') with fantastic art by Steve dillon If you have watched the boys and liked it BUY THIS BOOK! I will not spoil a thing but que some of the funniest writing I have ever had the pleasure of reading! This book was written in the late 90's and readers who remember how awsome the 90's were will love this as I did, as it is very 'of its time' If you are a younger zoomer who was offended by friends re runs on netflix, this book will be one hell of a trigger for you but suck it up and keep reading. At its core its a love story of epic proportions wrapped up in blood, religion, jokes and guns. I loved every page, every huge beautifly drawn page. The journey you will take with Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy will be one you cannot put down and anyone else in the room will wonder what you are laughing so hard about. Now I know that the absolute set of 3 editions is going to cost a small fortune but I will buy each book with a smile on my face knowing that you really cannot get any better its the absolutes of absolute editions and your shelf deserves to have it in it and you deserve to see it there. Shut up and take my money!

Looked at the packaging and noticed a corner was bent. Luckily the package was designed to take damage. Guess I won’t be immediately sending it back.

Qué decir de Preacher que no se haya dicho ya... En cuanto al omnibus, la encuadernación negra con letras doradas ya es de por si perfecta. Las páginas están unidas con hilo y tienen un buen grosor para manipularlas sin temor a que el libro se desmonte con solo mirarlo. La caja protectora tiene unas ilustraciones magníficas, así que esta colección va a quedar de lujo en mi biblioteca. (esta es la versión en inglés, por cierto)

This was a omplete success for me. Compelling, imaginative and, despite the violence, quite funny. The TV series inspired me to read the comics and I must say they're much better.

This is a great series that I was unable to get into back in 1990's, and with the television series I went back looking for the omnibus of the series. One of the great thing about omnibus printings is that it is much larger that the original comic book itself and it just gives a much better visual experience than the original comic itself. I was fortunate to purchase this for just under $114, and right now it is on sale for $125. Would definitely recommend purchasing this right now before it goes back up in price. Might be quiet some time before it comes down this much. I have been trying to purchase the third and final omnibus in the series but it never seems to come down in price. I may have to bite the bullet and pay full price for it later this year.
