Put this out after I saw a doe and her fawn. Within a couple days she found it.

Just rather big and really heavy. I think it’ll last a good while. I do not put it out to attract deer. I have enough gear in my woods behind my house. I just put it out for their convenience. I put one out that was apple flavored one time and they would not touch it. This seems more of their liking.

It looks exactly like rose quarts- it is really pretty. Very salty. It cannot fit in your pocket so if using it while in transit, bring a bag. It is rectangular. One lick is about 1/10 of your daily sodium needs so 10 licks will do. It is a brick of salt, so it's pretty easy to use. You could probably knock someone out with it

Couldn’t find a salt block that wasn’t so big that I couldn’t carry it to the end of our backyard. All that time and effort … when I could have just checked with Amazon first. Our little deer family visit us quite often now.

MAMA deer and her little ones tasted it today. I watch as they licked it and seemed to enjoy it. I have it placed next to a galivanted tub with water. Hot and humid here so they need both to enjoy their romp thru the woods.

Of all the salt blocks I've tried, the deer love this one the most. I found a plastic salt lick holder on Amazon that fits this size. It's probably meant for farm animals. One side is high, though, and is designed to nail onto a wall is something. Since I wanted to set mine on a log, I cut down the high side to make it even, made sure there were no sharp edges, then nailed the bottom to a piece of log. The deer eventually got used it and love it now. It keeps the block clean and elevated so it won't get buried in the snow. Over time the salt will decompose the log, but it lasts a while before you need to get a new one.
