It doesn’t. But, with a minor pivot I’m happier with it than I think I would’ve been if I had ordered what I thought I wanted. We bought a fire stick to plug into it (we have car WiFi from our cellular carrier) and were able to plug it in so that there were no hanging cords. The kids are now able to stream while we’re stuck in the car for hours and I have some sanity again! It was easy to install (there was a DVD player already in the car when I bought it so using the existing connections was easy) and took us about 1/2 an hour start to finish. It has a good clear picture and being able to do more than just stream TV is a really nice added benefit. My son is looking forward to testing his Xbox on it during our next road trip. The screen quality is excellent — large, bright, and sharp at 1080p, which makes movies and videos look great. USB and SD card playback provide both video and audio with no issues. The HDMI input only carries video, but you can still get audio through the built-in FM transmitter, which lets you play sound through the car’s stereo — a nice workaround that keeps HDMI useful. The only minor drawback for me is that the overhead lights stay faintly on even when the vehicle is off, due to the constant power wire. This may only be an issue in my setup, since it hasn’t caused any battery drain, but it is noticeable at night. Overall, this is a solid unit for the price, with excellent display quality, flexible playback options, and a clean design.
