Needed a more portable, versatile router than my mains router and this fits the bill. Already owned a Makita cordless drill so the power packs were in hand. This is nicely built - good quality plastic housing and a sturdy alloy sleeve and base. As you'd expect, everything feels solid and well made. Powering up has a nice safety feature: press unlock to illuminate the bit area - really helps to see where the bit is going for freehand work - and then press power to start up. Accidentally pressing power without the first step does nothing - good and safe. Speed adjustment too is straightforward.This is still a fairly powerful machine so needs a good, firm grip to operate smoothly - I'm not convinced these type of machines are safe in the hands of not so dexterous DIYers, so operate with care.Battery life seems really good but that's a plus with Makita branded power packs - avoid the unbranded replacements that NEVER have the rated capacity cells installed...Very happy with a useful, adaptable tool for the workshop.

It's Makita so you know what you're getting. It's a powerful hand router / trimmer and definitely does the job. Little bit pricey, as is all Makita's kit, but you get what you pay for. Uses up the battery quite quickly, but that's to be expected, so make sure you have a spare or two if using for any length of time.

Can’t fault this lovely little machine ... only used it for cutting out hinges so far but it’s light, easy to use and super quiet. I’m not particularly strong so using a large router has always been a bit daunting, this one is a pleasure to use and I want to do more routing!!

Bought this for my husband for Christmas to go with his array of other Makita tools and this one did not disappoint! Nice compact size allows for versatility and maneuverability, moreso than a full size router requiring 2 hand operation. First project was routing the edge of a 6 ft table top. Worked well. Very impressed.

Excellente qualité! Malheureusement je n'ai pas fait attention lors de mon achat, ce modèle est de manufacture anglaise, ce qui veut dire que la machine n'accepte que des fraises de 6.35mm! J'ai dû acheter un cône de pince de 6mm, par contre impossible de trouver un cône de 8mm

Ich verwende seit Jahren entweder Makita oder Milwaukee (USA). Das Gerät lässt sich wunderbar benutzen. Liegt gut in der Hand.
