Don't buy.... Its a lemon
I purchased this to dig trenches in my backyard. The local rentals could not get close enough to my cinder-block walls. I only needed about 200 feet of trenching. The trencher had an issue about every 20 feet. The following issues happened often...... 1) came without the chain safety bar, 2) chain came off often, 3) clutch would not engage or chain froze. 3) D-Rings on cart straps did not last two hours, 4) Engine starter rope was replaced four times. Note that often the chain came off and the trencher need to cool off before it could be fixed, 5) the manual suggested that the bolts be installed with products similar to loctite. The product should stop the bolts from vibrating loose. It did not..... They came out often. The seller did not use the locking product when assembled, so as I user I tried varying amounts of the product to stop them from coming out. Never helped..... Then one of the bolts on the sprocket at the end of the chain bar broke inside the sprocket (see photo). That ended my repair ability and the product is now junk.Dealing with Amazon and their A to Z guarantee was painful. At each step in the process, it was obvious the reviewers did not review my documents. I provided them details of all my issues, but the first thing they did was request I provide them a police report, because the item had not arrived. So, why would I have issues with the defective item, If it was not received…… When I purchased the item, it was covered by the guarantee and returnable, but I determined that once gas and oil was placed in the engine, it became hazardous material and could not be shipped without complex issues. Amazon seems to have read about it being hazardous and changed the page to state the item could not be returned because it is hazardous material. Then with the page changing Amazon denied my A-to-Z claim because it is a non-returnable item. Total lake of detail in review of my documents.UPDATE: My credit card company refunded me for this transaction.

Durable Machine, Great Value, Awesome Customer Service!
The media could not be loaded. This was purchased to do an irrigation project at my neighbor's place. He wanted sprinkler/watering lines ran to a network of trees he is planting on his lot, and the greedy contractors in the area quoted him $12k! Yikes. We bought this machine and had it done in a week's worth of evening sessions. His soil is tough, but this thing would kick rocks to the surface that were like 4" round, which was a pleasant surprise. It took a while to get used to trenching in general... It's like a dirt chainsaw that has to bounce off of rocks and cut roots, pretty hard job the machine has to do, so, just like a chainsaw, keep your wrench handy and just check the chain tension and bar hardware every time you fuel it up. They ship two chains and an extra end sprocket and belt with the machine so you can keep going when you wear out the digging teeth. Their replacement parts are reasonably priced. When we first started I had the chain too tight like a chainsaw, but they have a customer service dept that ACTUALLY PICKS UP THE PHONE and they're super knowledgeable. They told me to keep about an inch and a half of droop between the bar and the chain so the chain doesn't bind up. They also gave me a ton of tips on how to do this job right, so I'm really happy and would recommend it to anyone with property. It's a really useful tool. The engine is this company's own economy model. They offer a more expensive one with the Husqvarna engine, but this one worked great for usThe cart is pretty essential in my opinion, but it disconnects real quick for refueling or if you need to trench in a tight area like around a rock or whatever. The hip belt is comfortable and detatches real quick for when you need to take a break and get a beverage from the cooler.
